Same here... we watched the first episode, but it didn't capture us enough to continue.
One of the problems of so much content out there - you may miss good ones if the first episode doesn't hold you

That"s very true. Directors have an almost impossible job of involving the viewer in 45 mines. That's not enough time to develop the plot and the characters. So many directors will give their all in the first eposode to keep their audience and then they have little left for the remainder of the series.

I almost stopped watching Ripley in the first episode because it was so slow. The great cinematography kept me watching. It wasn't till the 3rd episode that I was hooked.
