If we are to amend the Constitution, then we need to get rid of the term high crimes. It's too vague and too ambiguous. Dershowitz explained high crimes mean those akin to bribery, treason, and misdemeanors. But that was his argument based on his research of our founders. People don't have to adhere to what Dershowitz actually said.

It should also be changed to a statutory crime. Making up crimes like abuse of power and obstruction to use impeachment only gives us what we just experienced.

One can only hope. Overriding the voters isn't a good idea unless the offense is a lot worse than what both Clinton and Trump did. If the misdeed deserves impeachment and the House can't get the 2/3s vote then those who should have voted for it should and will face the voters in the next election. I'd say we need the legislators to be focused on what WE want rather than what THEY want. There are other ways to deal with miscreants in the WH.

Frankly I don’t think it’s worth the effort. Constitutional amendments are hard to pass. I’d rather see the effort spent on repealing the 17th amendment which has usurped the voice of state governments at the federal level.

I can't believe it was ever made a simple majority in the first place. That just invites what we just went through. There is always a majority; they even have a majority leader, I think it ought to be at least 2/3rds like the senate to practically insure that it would be a bipartisan mutually agreed effort.

But lets hold off until we can impeach and convict us a few democrats first. And set new records for the speed in which it is done.
