Texas Governor Rick Perry joked on Wednesday that Al Gore has "gone to hell."
While speaking to a builders group in Dallas, Perry was asked about his relationship with the former vice president.
"Did you get religion? Did he get religion?" a man in the crowd asked. "What has happened since then?" The Republican governor used to be a Democrat; he worked for Gore's presidential campaign in 1988.
"I certainly got religion," Perry said. "I think he's gone to hell."

In October, Perry made a similarly derogatory comment about Gore's climate change advocacy. "I've heard Al Gore talk about man-made global warming so much that I'm starting to think that his mouth is the leading source of all that supposedly deadly carbon dioxide," he said.
