RFKjr should reduce SNAP benefits.

My point is that we found a way to get groceries home. What is NEVER stated regarding poor black people is that they just won't shop in a white suburban food store even though they certainly can.

We sold "soul food" at the A&P where I worked as a meat cutter. The display of pig parts was untouched during the day, but in the morning it would be half empty. The blacks would come at night just before closing to shop. I never saw a black shopper during the day. This store was also adjacent to the black neighborhood I mentioned earlier.

So, it isn't that poor blacks can't find good stores to shop for food, it's that they won't.
So, you are a racist! That's the issue!

Just to humor you and possibly get it through that ancient piece of concrete you carry in place of your head, I repeated your comment. Tell me what in there is not racist! You are pointing out stereotypical behaviors of blacks versus whites. Coming from your generation, older than mine, that is typical because my parents thought the same way.

How on God's green earth do you find racism in those comments? Splain please.

Anyway, returning somewhat to the topic, more middle-class white people live in "food deserts" than minority poor people. This is because the many supermarkets of the past decades have been replaced by a few 'big box' supermarkets, so everyone has to travel some distance to get to one. So, the 2.3 million number refers mainly to minorities, whereas the actual figure is many times that. For example,

"Data from 2015 show that 10% of Wisconsin, or about 570,000 people, live in areas meeting the standards of a food desert, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture."

Most of these would be middle class white people.

How is it that these behaviors persist today? Blacks still don't shop at "white" supermarkets even though they are welcome to do so. In fact, where do they even shop. We have a large black population in my city, but I rarely see a black shopper in any of the food stores that I shop at. Even the economical "Pick 'N Save", I rarely see a black shopper. Of course I don't shop late in the evening, as mentioned earlier.

You kept saying they did not exist! Which is it?

Where in the world do you live? My neighborhood is a generic mix of black, white and Hispanics. We all shop at Kroger, Publix, Neighborhood Market. Aldi, and any others I failed to mention. We have no lily white nor black stores. I have lived all over the eastern US and I have never seen it as you describe. I think you just hate blacks and try to avoid them.

I live in one of the most liberal cities in America, and there no general social race mixing that I'm aware of. We have racial 'ghettos' if you will where minorities keep to their own. Ironic for a liberal city, I know.

They don't from a practical point of view because anyone can access good food no matter where they live. It's a phony concept.
How do you access food if you:
A) don't have a car.
B) cannot drive a car.
C) are handicapped in some way and have no transportation.
D) rely on bus transportation to get around.

Have a friend or relative drive you.
Have a friend or relative shop for you.
Many churches help with this.
Take the bus, cab, or Lyft.
If you are poor the food is free (SNAP, WIC). All you pay for is the transportation.

I guess you want people to not have the independence to do it themselves.
