I think most of us would agree that the voting system needs some tweaking one way or another. I propose we get rid of the winner take all electoral vote system employed by most states and, instead, have one vote for each county in the country. The winner of that particular county is one vote for president. There are 3,143 counties in the US and each one would get one vote and the presidential winner would get the majority of the counties' votes. We would also allow for more credible parties in each county, and any serious independents providing enough signatures to qualify.

So, the results could wind up being something like:

1325 votes for the republican

1300 votes for the democrat

200 votes for the libertarian

150 votes for the progressives

100 votes for the green party

10 votes for this party

10 votes for that party

10 votes for this party

10 votes for that party

10 votes for this party

10 votes for that party

and 8 votes for various independents.

Now I know that Democrats will be totally against this but I was curious what everyone else thought.

How stupid is that?

The county of Los Angeles has ten million people
The county of Buttfuk Texas has ten thousand

You want them to count the same?

NY would turn from blue to red.
ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh. Don't tell them. Every state would be red. But, that's not the point. The point is the states would no longer be deciding who the president is, the counties would.

NY would turn from blue to red.
Everything would.
Republicans always win the most counties.
Obama won 800 something. Biden won 400 something. But they both won the popular vote.

Never gonna fly. LA County has over ten million residents. Loving County in Texas has 64. Hard to sell giving 64 residents of that county the same voice as the 10 million in another county.

Ummmmmmmmm, you guys complain that's the way it is now with the electoral vote system. I was just offereing an alternative.

But that's the way the left claim it is now with the electoral vote system.

No
It isn’t that way

EVs are still weighted unfairly to low population states

Only fair way
One man one vote

One man one vote is what you have in the House.

And for your State House, and for your Governors.

We don't need the left taking over the country and forcing 2/3rds of the country to follow big city rules.

The first amendment we need is one to get rid of Morris v Board of Estimates, So States can have senate like bodies as upper houses just as the federals have.

Talk to your state legislature - they created it, they can change it.

That will require a constitutional amendment
There are 3,143 counties in the US
Counties are state constructions; each state can create/delete counties as it sees fit.
Democrats, looking to win at all costs, could add dozens of counties to CA NY IL, etc.

And, even then, Democrats:
"This country has 10,000 people - why should it count the same as this counrty with 300,000 people?"

But that's the way the left claim it is now with the electoral vote system.
Kinda, sorta. THe EC is still proportional to populations. It caps out, but it still does take into account population.

Just split the U.S. in half, let Dem scum live in filth on their side of the border, way easier.

We already accomodate low population states in the Senate
They get the same representation as states with over 50 times the population.

Let the Senate represent low population states
Let the House represent states by population
Let the President represent We the People

One man, one vote

One person one vote.

No votes for the county.

However, winner in a district gets that Congressional seat. E. G., 28 votes, 14 and 14 even, then 14 seats for each party.

That would mean 2/3rds of the government would be democrats and only 1/3 Republican.
