Thats really disappointing. I thought you were more sophisticated than this.Sometimes, I think, what is leftover of the GOP simply does not wish to be in a position of having to take responsibility for the mess, it being much more comfortable to blame others than be responsible for it's administration, themselves. This is why that group still coddles and supports Trump's primary run, knowing American will never elect him to actively from a position of power, continue to destroy our constitution, rule of law and the mechanisms that support it.
Sadly, this will continue the destruction of that party as a viable balancing force in guiding the country in the future.
Trump wasn't blamed for anything by his followers during his presidency. This fucker promised a "miracle". Literally saying the word "miracle". No blowback. Banged a porn star while married. No blowback. Sold the idea of a stolen election in 9 states to full grown adults. No blowback. If anything; with his base (not to be confused with the GOP)...he's more popular now.
No matter how bad the performance were to be...his base will never pin any responsibility on him. And as you saw in his term as POTUS...the rest of the GOP was mute whenever he pulled all of the above.
The point about still supporting is a good one by the way. But the reasoning is silly.
