Republicans Stunned God, Guns, And Gays No Longer Working For Them

I thought the D's losing the House was a sure thing before that ruling. I'm not so sure any longer. It will be interesting to see. If the D's maintain the House it will be 100% because of the overturning of RvW.

Overturn gay marriage and it may mean the (R)'s are left in the wilderness. Thomas's statement about believing that ruling should be re-looked at is going to play a huge role in this coming election also.

Here in WV which overwhelmingly went for Trump they can't even agree on a abortion law. I'm not sure if I give them credit for trying to consider the actual will of the people or condemn them for caring more for maintaining their office over doing what they believe to be the right thing.
Interesting watching Republicans downplay the need to legislate the right to Same sex marriage claiming it is already settled

Just like Roe v Wade was

Not one mention of reproductive rights. The Dems will win the House too, because women voters outnumber male voters by more than 8 million. Even women who oppose abortion don't want a total ban. "Heartbeat laws" are killing women.

Mitch McConnell's threat to pass a national abortion ban is real and women know it. As long as Republicans oppose women's rights, they're dead in the water.
Young women have seen the largest increase in new registration

Also look for increased participation of women in normally dull mid terms

Roe is not a compelling force, not even for your own voters. You don't realize that yet?

In the words of one of your own: "It's the economy, stupid"

Believe the polls and the spinmasters at your own peril, I guess.

You sound like the typical Republican who was running a victory lap on the economy last May

Gas prices have dropped $1.70 since May, inflation is subsiding, the Stock Market is rebounding, job market is strong

Dobbs was a shock to the electorate. No longer can women take abortion rights for granted…….they must take action
Republicans are backing away from previous extreme abortion positions……but their past views are public record

According to a report from Politico's David Siders, Republicans have normally banked on culture war issues to drive the base to the polls but in 2022 "God, guns and gays" isn't playing well with voters in large part because the electorate and attitudes on those three hot-button issues have evolved.
Not just that, the wedge issues they've fomented in this cycle aren't resonating as they once were. CRT.......grooming.......gender identity........issues they felt would animate the white, suburban voters they have been losing in the wake of Trump's overt bigotry and lawlessness, have been superseded in importance behind Repubs having taking away a woman's right to bodily autonomy.
Repubs were smart to acquiesce to passing minimalist gun control legislation to run cover for their historic intransigence on the matter. Their problem being the unpopularity of their positions on everything from climate change to immigration. Which brings us back to why they put wedgies like CRT front and center in the first place.

You guys are mistaken. Republicans believe that as long as you are alive, God hasn't taken away your rights to live. However, if you continue lying about people who aren't doing what you said they were doing, you better change your ways. Republicans believe in 1 person, 1 vote. We do not discriminate nor do we ban neither gay person, lesbians, nor sinners. We're all human, and so is everyone else. Our official policy is something to the effect live and let live. You should try it sometime, doll. We think God is the judge, not we ourselves. And as for Christians and Hebrews, a lot of Biblical praise went to an army of Eunuchs (ancient term for Gay men). Things haven't changed all that much, have they. Admit it, O ye of little faith. :deal:
What does that have to with the failed promise to “repeal and replace“ the ACA?

That does not surprise me in the least, and is not contradictory to what I posted, you realize. In that case it was ONLY ABORTION up for that particular vote. In the House and Senate elections, people are looking at a range of issues that effect them. The truth is that only a small slice of Americans are MOST motivated by abortion rights. That's not a daily issue for them. Daily issues are inflation, the economy, gas prices. Crime. Those are the issues that will motivate voters in November. The Democrats know this, which is why they're panicking, which is why you're seeing 1. Fake information about how they are actually making a comeback AND 2. Fake panic about MAGA are extremists! Which has also blown up in their faces.

The group of voter, men and women, most affected by this are voters in the 20 - 40 age group. They're the ones of prime child bearing years, and the ones who's lives are most affected by the loss of rights. They were also the people who voted for Joe Biden but were less than happy with his performance since the Inauguration.

The other group that are turning away from Republicans are fathers. The idea that Republicans would force their teenage daughter to have a baby if she became pregnant by rape is an abomination to any right-thinking parent. These are men who have gone through the ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, and other difficult pregnancies with their wives, and they want to make sure that whatever care the women they love need, is available to them.

Even Republican state houses are stopping the insane rush to pass radical anti-abortion laws which prevent doctors from providing life-saving care to patients.

Beautress, wake up. None of those things are Republican policy anymore. Not one of them.

Inflation rate in July and August dropped. What impact do you think gas prices dropping by .$1.65 a gallon will have on inflation by November ?

Unemployment is at 3.7 percent. Employers are begging for workers. Wages are up

You are 30 years behind in George HW Bush's GOP brah. Now we are about NO Globalist Tyranny, No War, America First.

You can mock, but it is a fact that the majority of Republican voters now support gay marriage.

The organization formerly known as the Republican Party has a real knack for being on the wrong side of history.

With the November midterms looming and Republican hopes of taking control of both chambers of Congress slipping away, GOP campaign consultants are scrambling because their traditional appeals to voters are now falling flat and they're not sure what to do about it.

According to a report from Politico's David Siders, Republicans have normally banked on culture war issues to drive the base to the polls but in 2022 "God, guns and gays" isn't playing well with voters in large part because the electorate and attitudes on those three hot-button issues have evolved.

So what happens when the only thing you have, are divisive issues that don’t work for you anymore?

Hey, I know, let’s try trickle down economics. That’s a winner.
Somehow I don't think the GOP "mainstays" you reference have lost the slightest "charm" or "potency" amongst both their base and the electorate at large.

Frankly, I think the op-ed -caliber "report" you're referencing is merely Wishful Thinking and Pleasant Delusion.

God is a timeless issue.

Woke-ist LGBTQ crap in our schools is toxic and incendiary and is as hot as lava and will be in perpetuity... parents don't want that deviant $hit around kids.

Guns may not be a 'timeless' issue but be assured that it will remain extant as a hot-button so long as the Republic and its Constitution stands.

The Conservative overturning of Roe v Wade put a dent in the GOP's very large lead in the polls that we saw in the weeks leading up to that decision..

However, Democrats are deluding (*) themselves if they think that the electorate-at-large is re-tooling their ideas on God, gays and Guns in Dems' favor.

Then again, and come to think of it... Democrats are blind enough and arrogant enough - and dumb enough - to do just that (*)...

The candidates can't bash gays as hard any more. And they are scrubbing their web sites of their cold blooded extremist views on abortion.

Gun violence is out of control and the Republican resistance to even the most common sense legislation will not bode well for them in the long run.

We have full employment. The very same unemployment level the cucks and Trump couldn't stop crowing about when it was this low during his term, and Biden had to come from farther down in the ditch.

And then the Republicans really went out of their way to rig the election in the Democrats' favor by nominating some real whackadoos like Herschel Walker, Dr. Oz, et al.

So the big red wave will probably be a ripple.
