Biden asked for specific numbers and McCarthy hasn’t even been able to provide that. You can’t enter into a negotiations with someone who doesn’t even know what they’re asking for.

Biden has substantially reduce the deficit in each of his first two budgets and has every intention of doing the same with the 2023 budget. But the 2022 budget is not gonna change.

McCarthy gave a speech yesterday, telling his caucus that Biden’s “willingness to negotiate” was a “victory”.

McCarthy has already caved.
