I hope my fellow Tennesseans at USMB will join in letting their state representatives know that we want to see legislation to protect out state from an over reaching federal government. Haslam in particular needs to know that Tennesseans are paying attention. Protect our state sovereignty.

Greg Johnson: Republicans make historic gains in Tennessee

On an otherwise dismal GOP night nationally, Tennessee Republicans made history Tuesday, sweeping to super majorities in the state House and state Senate for the first time since Reconstruction while maintaining a 7-2 advantage in the U.S. House and handily holding a U.S. Senate seat.

Ramsey said, "After decades of (Democratic) Party rule in Tennessee, Republicans have won the war of ideas across the state's grand divisions and changed the political culture."

Incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Corker raised $14 million, which struck fear in serious challengers. Corker beat Mark Clayton, the conspiracy theorist Democrats comically nominated, by 65 percent to 30 percent. Amazingly, Clayton, called the "worst candidate" of 2012 by the Washington Post, got 102,768 votes in Davidson County, trailing Corker by about 5,000 votes, and, incredibly, won Shelby County by almost 30,000 votes. The fact so many Democrats in Democratic redoubts would vote for such an embarrassingly unqualified candidate says much about Tennessee Democrats.

The nation is fragmenting. The red states will get much redder and the crime infested cities will get much bigger.

As Igor Pankin said, at one point, those states will simply stop paying to support the cities. Or, paying the government to support the failed states.
