Here's the problem with that mentality... Medical care is socialist no matter what system you use.

Either someone else is paying for your health care, or you are paying for someone else's healthcare. It doesn't really matter if the collecting agency is a government agency that reports to elected officials, or a greedy insurance company that extracts obscene profits for managing the funds.

If you have any kind of truly serious illness or injury, it's going to exceed what you are going to be able to pay for it.

Now, insurance would be nice, if everyone could afford it. But few of us can on our own. Most of us get it through our jobs. And of course, big insurance is just too greedy, which is why they came up with schemes like "Pre-existing conditions" to refuse to pay for things.

Not true at all. I get to choose whether or not I even want to have health insurance in the free market. If I choose to, I get to choose which policy. And none of it is "socialism". I pay into it and it is used for me when I need it.

Socialism is providing something for someone who didn't pay into it (you know, like welfare, Social Security, Medicaid, etc.). And yes...there are millions of people who never paid into Social Security.

You love that lie because you know it has almost nothing to do with the healthcare system. Life expectancy is almost exclusively the result of lifestyle - not healthcare. If you eat a ton of fast food (as America does) and you don't exercise, you're life expectancy significantly drops without any drop in healthcare availability, healthcare costs, healthcare quality, etc.

Also, thanks to progressives, we have a heroin epidemic in the U.S. That drastically reduces life expectancy (again - without any reflection on our healthcare system). You can keep trying that lie all you want, but it just doesn't hold up no matter how many times you go to it.
