it's what I have said since the Supreme Court didn't put a stay on the law until the case was heard and decided.

People are now motivated to get out to vote against republicans. Primarily women and women are the majority in our nation.

The republicans shot themselves in the foot with this and most of them know it. Which is why most of them have remained silent on this.

‘Speaking to The Associated Press, Republican pollster Christine Matthews suggested that some GOP lawmakers may have decided against coming out in support of the measure in case it is used against them in next year's midterms.

"It is going to be a very motivating issue for women who haven't typically been single-issue pro-choice voters," Matthews said.’ ibid

Exactly.

Sorry dud...but this is a national concern.

Red states across the country are getting set to emulate this
No, it's a single state concern. Any state that may emulate it would be doing so for THEIR constituents not Texas or anyone else.

Seems only liberals feel the need to whine about things that don't directly concern them. Why is that, dud?

/——-/ You think all women March in lockstep with the FemniNazis? No, as always, it will fall along party lines.

This law has one purpose---keep you communist shit twinkle-toed cocksuckers the fuck outta Texas.

A nice msn opinion piece, but is expected from them.
People in Texas are more in tune to what's happening at the
border and who's responsible for that.
But, what ever gets you to sleep nights, go with it.
The reason they're not celebrating it is because, 1) It just took most of the air out of the Afghanistan balloon. 2) Even in mostly red Texas and elsewhere, it futher alienates white suburban college educated women who had a minor inkling about coming back and voting Republican in 2022...whoops...can you say, unforced error? :)

Yes several of them have already announced they will be passing the same legislation as soon as possible.

Yes I've been saying that since the law went into effect.

Because it is not an abortion law--it has no government penalty. That's why the SCOTUS has not ruled on it.

During the decades since the USSC's decision permitting abortion, the GOP has been dangling-the-carrot of overturning Roe v Wade in front of their anti-choice base, always promising, "This will be the year."

It has been the issue Republican candidates promised to "fix" that put (and kept) most of them in office election after election.

The Texas law will screw countless GOP politicians in the 2022 Mid-terms. Without the abortion issue, and with the trump influence polluting right-wing politics, the measure of fascism is all that remains to separate one Republican politician from another.

There's always putting that gay marriage thing in the states hands'. We already know how Roberts feels about it. There are plenty of issues to band decent folks together.
