Republicans are in trouble

You are looking at it in the wrong way. What people notice is their wallets and how many people they know who are on short time or out of work. They notice all the people at the grocery store using those food stamp plastic cards. They notice that gas has not went down even though it was said gas would go down when Gadaffi gone. They really don't care about the GDP or dow or nasdk numbers they care about the numbers in their wallet. Those numbers are not in obamas favor.

Good post.

And what is worse is that they don't see any leadership at the top.

Reagan didn't do much for the economy. He did give the country back it's courage.

Our government now looks like some kind of three ring circus. Did President Obama really not know what he was signing up for ? Or did he truly think he could spend us back to prosperity all the while we stood by and watched our debt sky-rocket ?

Honestly, this is Obama's election to lose. The economy is already showing signs of improving. GDP is up over 2.5%, unemployment will be down below 9%, corporations are making earnings hand over fist... and the best candidate the Republicans have to show us is Mitt Romney, who has an opinion based upon what day of the week and what direction the wind is blowing.

A 3rd party candidate like Ron Paul will only split the Republican vote.

Honestly, all Obama has to do is just maintain the course and hope that nothing absolutely horrible happens in the next year and that the economy continues to, even if slowly, improve.

The American people do not like Obama. He is cold, aloof, distant, rarely shows personality, his economy policies have increased our national debt by over $3 trillion, our federal deficit each year is over $1 trillion... but at least they know they can trust him. He's taken out Ghadaffi, Osama, the guy in Yemen... we are SAFER today, then we were 4 years ago.

Romney is a flip-flopper. The American people will not be able to trust him and the American people would rather vote for someone they trust vs. someone they like. All Obama has to do is stay the course, hope that no scandals arise, make a few speeches, beat Romney in a debate or two and promise Israel that they can launch their attack on Iran in December 2012.

Foolish little Obama-bot. Always entertaining. Thanks for the laugh!

You call opinion truth ?

No wonder this country is in such trouble.

Yeah, as long as the circus of phony debates keeps up and republicans don't have a candidate....duh ...they will be in trouble.

are you paying attention to what's going on in Europe? Those socialist countries are collapsing like dominos and it's going to negatively affect us as well.

What I don't get is you see all these European states collapsing because they spend too much money on entitlements and people in this country think its a good idea to mimic them.. Talk about stupid :cuckoo:

It's a sad day when lefties think unemployment of "less than 9%" is a reason to celebrate.

This country is bipolar.

Republicans have a sticky problem, they will have to play extremist to the base for the primaries and then make some massive flip-flops to attempt to appeal to the center. I do not think it can be done with a straight face, especially after OWS gets involved, they are going to make themselves and the banking industry the central issue of the elections.

No problem. Obama surgically attached himself to the OWS movements.

Let's run commercials of OWS defecating on cop cars, lighting a city on fire, defecating in the lobbys of businesses and molesting 14 year old girls and throwing urine on people runnin a food cart and call it a day.

They weren't in Roosevelt's favor in 1936, either.

What's more important than what state the economy is in next year is whether people perceive it as improving, and to the extent it is whether people credit Obama for that, and to the extent it's not whether people blame him for it. Right now things are improving and so are Obama's poll numbers. Also, let's not forget the crucial wild card of Occupy, which gives Obama an opportunity to not suck so bad in terms of the expectations of his core constituency.

(Well, actually what it gives him is a kick in the ass. But that amounts to an opportunity.)

Here's a recent poll matching Obama against a generic Republican: Poll: Obama even with 'generic Republican' It's a dead heat, 43-42 (1 point Obama but that's within the MOE).

Two things to bear in mind. This far from the election, any challenger is going to poll better against an incumbent than he will on election day, because the incumbent isn't in campaign mode yet. Also, for most voters a "generic" opposition candidate will be more appealing than any of the actual ones because most people will fill in their "ideal" GOP candidate here, and that of course includes people who actually have a favorite among the real ones. But I might fill in Scott Brown or Cynthia Snow, neither of whom is running for president.

Obama ties the generic candidate and easily beats the real candidates in recent polls, so he's very likely to walk away with the election next year. Of course, the real candidate will likely experience a poll boost when he gets the nomination, and may pull ahead of Obama for a time -- Mondale pulled ahead of Reagan in 1984 after the Dem convention, just to show how little that's worth. And of course, real-world events could change this picture. But right now it's looking like Obama's election to lose.

I don't think the electorate is educated enough to understand what Obama is doing, at least to make an intelligent enough decision to remove him from office.. After the disaster of the last three years and he's still at 40% approval. Frightening, I'd think he would be in the 20's by now.

He will have a billion dollar war chest, is that enough money to convince the electorate that 9% unemployment is the new norm?

Did anyone actually watch the debate last night? All of the Republican's running for president did not have clue on important issues. Perry wants to get rid of the department of education, ---this guy needs to go back to school. Romney looked like he rolled out of bed. Cain still degrading women calling Nancey Pelosi "Princess."

These people are waisting valuable air time that could be spent on covering the OWS movement.

What benefit is the department of education providing that we cannot do on the state level?

You really think obama has a snow balls chance in hell of winning? HISTORY HAS SHOWN THAT WITH A WEAK ECONOMY THE RESIDING PRESIDENT IS NEVER RE-ELECTED. I would wait a few months before I made that claim. If the economy stay's in the shitter like it is unless he cheats Saddam has a better chance coming back to life then obma winning dog catch in bum fuck Egypt.

This premise is incorrect. A 2.5% increase of $14.5 trillion shows that our economy spent $362 billion more in our 3rd quarter than the previous quarter. We're not going to see 8's or 9's over here.

You are looking at it in the wrong way. What people notice is their wallets and how many people they know who are on short time or out of work. Then explain his 40% approval rating? This clown should be in the 30's and 20's like Carter was in his third year.

I would accuse you of looking at it in the wrong way. Which candidate is an unemployed person going to vote for? Someone who's voted to increase unemployment benefits or someone who has vowed to eliminate unemployment benefits alltogether? Forget about why they're unemployed, worry about how they're going to survive.

Cutting taxes a marginal 5% for the super wealthy isn't going to create jobs. Corporations are making money. We don't need to cut taxes for them. The problem is DEMAND. If the middle class had jobs, they would be buying more and more buying = more jobs.

We need to give corporations a reason to start hiring again.

That's an interesting way to look at it. The psychology of corporations due to the leader in the white house. Very interesting.

George W. Bush inherited a strong economy, a budget surplus, and a nation at peace.

Eight years later, he left Obama with a shattered economy, a trillion dollar deficit, and two useless wars.

Obama saved the country from another Great Depression, rebuilt GM, reformed healthcare, reformed Wall Street, doubled the stock market, created 19 straight months of private sector job growth, got Bin Laden, got Gaddafi, and got us out of Iraq.

Obama deserves to be re-elected, my friends.

I don't want to hear what you dream about and wish it was true. I doubt others do either.

Actually very plain.

We are sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars waiting to see which way the wind blows. Capital spending in the U.S. is almost nothing. Overseas, we can't spend it fast enough.

Interesting ? Or depressing ?

Well, as I am not your friend, I am not sure if I should respond or not.

But your post is pure crap and it does not smell any less even though this is the 100th time you've put it up.
