This may be another canary in the coal mine moment for Republican politicians.
The Wisconsin Farmers Union held an event in Chippewa Falls to discuss Trump’s actions with regards to farm policy, and the invited Republican politicians were a no show. No staff were there either. Four Democrats who were invited did show up at the meeting, so they got to listen to all the incoming financial pain that Wisconsin farmers face from the onslaught of Trumponomics.
My spidey sense tells me that the Republicans simply did not want to face the pain and possible wrath of the farmers.
Democrats who showed: U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Black Earth), state Sen. Jeff Smith (D-Eau Claire) and state Reps. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) and Christian Phelps (D-Eau Claire).
The list of No Show Republicans: U.S. Reps. Tom Tiffany and Derrick Van Orden, state Reps. Rob Sommerfeld (R-Bloomer), Treig Pronschinske (R-Mondovi) and Clint Moses (R-Mondovi) and state Sens. Jesse James (R-Thorp) and Rob Stafsholt (R-New Richmond).
No indication in the article how the farmers at this meeting voted in the last election. But the conditions outline above are probably very true of many other rural areas across the U.S. And seeing as Trump wants to cut SNAP, Medicaid, destroy USAID, impose tariffs, and deport the rural workforce, I’d say that these WI farmers are going to facing some extremely harsh realities very soon.

I'm sure they didn't show up. Maybe the farmers will show up at their offices.
