Tom Brady reportedly has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the New England Patriots.

The deal will significantly lessen Brady's salary cap hit for 2016, which would have been about $15 million. He was due to make $9 million next season, plus a $6 million bonus, and $10 million in salary in 2017.

Brady, 38, has often redone his contract to help the Patriots' cap situation. The four-time Super Bowl champion has said he plans to play well into his 40s. The extension would allow him to do so in New England.

The agreement was first reported by ESPN.

Brady also renegotiated his contract in 2013 to help reduce cap hits. New England was $13.6 million under the 2016 cap of $155.27 million before extending Brady.

Report: Pats extend Brady for 2 years

Looks like he figures he has a couple more years left in him............and look at what he did...and HAS been doing....the bolded.

Gee what a lousy person, huh? ;)

the fact that shady brady plans to play well into his fortys makes me belief that he not peyton manning is on HGH.He really is a shady character and most quarterbacks by the time they are 38 have slowed down and are not the same QB they have been their entire career unable to throw the ball deep down the field accurately as manning did last year. he was bailed out this year by the donkeys defense.

the fact that he is confidant he can play into his forties is all the more reason he is probably on it.He is a liar and cheater so that would be typical of him to cheat with HGH.

This is not a trash thread please....it's all been said ad nauseum. ;)

Very possible, and time will tell.

Also, Brady signed a 2 year contract. He is 38 now. That would not put him well into his 40's.

No, this is a 2 year extension. He was already signed until he turns 40, this would bring him to 42. Still not "well into" his 40's though.

As far as 9/11's rant goes... He's claimed for years that the refs invented the tuck rule on the spot to help the Patriots beat the Raiders, so he's not the type to even bother reading when it comes to Brady or the Patriots. He's literally beyond help on those topics.

Ohh okay. I didn't realize that. But he actually can retire whenever, can't he?

It's not all guaranteed money, provisions are in the contract that if the Pats cut him before spring deadlines, that his contract would end and they would only need to pay the guaranteed amount.

That's pretty much how most NFL contracts are structured these days
