Report: Trump to Take Control of USPS, Dismiss Postal Board

President Donald Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.

The newspaper, citing six people familiar with the plans, reported that Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as this week to fire the members of the Postal Service's governing board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department.

Imagine the TDS over MAGA Forever stamps. ;)

Ends DEI there once and for all.
Fair exams no preference except for combat vets.
Get rid of all the DEI bosses from top to bottom.
So Louis wasn't doing enough damage for tRump?

Then why does Congress always have to vote on more funding for the post office?
Tell me when they did that the last time.

Not directly funded by the federal government
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is not directly funded by the federal government. Unlike most federal agencies, USPS receives very little funding from Congress. Instead, it relies on sales, borrowing, and interest income to fund its operations. Although postal workers receive federal benefits, they are not considered federal employees.

Google works apparently!

If you were halfway intelligent you'd know.
I am completely intelligent, you are the half-wit thinking that preference in hiring vets is based on their skin color. You are so racist.

You are so intelligent you are misquoting what I said and trying to twist it back to yer identity political dog whistles.

Well, fool, you originally misquoted what I said. Hiring vets has nothing to do with DEI and immutable bodily characteristics. You're so stupid you don't even know what you said.

Possibly a good idea, but - - You posted ""Trump to Take Control of USPS" Then you posted- - place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department. Hello - - The Commerce Dept. is not directly controlled by the President. Sorry for nitpicking, but you're jumping in different directions with this.

The authoritarianism you'd be accusing Biden of had he done it.
Biden would have never done what Trump is doing. Biden's version of 'doge' was to go in and ruin our economy mainly by rescinding Trump's energy policies costing US much more for everything. Biden did nothing to pare down government useless spending, he encouraged it. Nice try.

Like I said, it is a shell game. “Very little funding from Congress” means they receive funding from Congress, plus government benefits.

15th post
They should let the USPS use tax deductions for business and they would get a refund check.
Tax deductions for what? They are in the red after their expenses and then their red ink is bailed out by the federal government. Business tax deductions are for expenses, including salaries, same as the post office’s. But the federal government does not bail out business’s red ink, although it can be used to offset profitable years. The post office doesn’t have profitable years.

If they had the chance to do as big business does they would not be losing so much because with USPS I can rely on delivery, with Fed X and UPS I can't rely on them delivering where I live. So let the USPS take tax deductions like the half-assed competitors so they can write off those expenses.

I guess you never ran a company to see how little employee benefits account for in operating costs. Their retirement program is fully self-funded BTW.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Businesses have expenses, including salaries, all of which are deducted and you don't have to pay any taxes on business expenses, just the profit after expenses. That's the same for businesses and the post office, except for the fact that the post office never has a profit because their expenses are more than their income coming in. So, the federal government bails them out for their red ink. The federal government doesn't bail out businesses for their red ink, except for letting profitable businesses offset red ink with profits. The post office never has a profit.
