Mail should be privatized.

It is a money pit.

It should not be privatized. It will hurt rural Americans. It will be harder for rural areas to get mail as service will be cut and prices raised. One of the major reasons that they run such large deficits is because they have to cover 100% of their employees' pension payments. No private or public business has to do that.

President Donald Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.

The newspaper, citing six people familiar with the plans, reported that Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as this week to fire the members of the Postal Service's governing board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department.

Getting packages and shipping mail isn't important? I'd absolutely hate to live in an area that doesn't have a fedex or UPS and if they did, you can bet they'll charge people through the nose now that the option of the post office is gone. That's just simple economics. Eliminate the cheapest option and prices go up at the only services anyone could possibly use.

A week ago yesterday I ordered from Amazon and a couple of other places. All of them hit the new Indianapolis USPS distribution center, they've sat there since.
