President Donald Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.

The newspaper, citing six people familiar with the plans, reported that Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as this week to fire the members of the Postal Service's governing board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department.

Yes it is a money pit. Why? Govt inefficiency. Being a money pit it will take a hell of a restructure and private business man/ceo to run it at a profit. Anyone in their sane mind going to take on a business operates in the red zone? They better have a good business plan. Or, charge like private shippers? What would Fedex, UPS charge for an envelope when cheapest I can ship anything with them is at $18.

Observation. My new rural carrier was DEI squared then trippled for sure. Put large boxes on the hood of my trucks if she can't cram it in the plastic box (had to replace with metal she broke it) everyone else puts it in the trucks like I filled paperwork out at the PO for them to do. Red flag only means anything is she has mail for me. Leaves a 2 foot plus length package of hundreds dollars of leather sticking out the mailbox into the actual street lane. Soon as Trump said no more DEI federally, gone right away. Now if she had put those boxes on my 2003 anniversary vet hood? I'd own them.

I’ve detailed for 3 years now the problems here with mail delivery. The postmistress is confrontational and always talks about sickness, vacation., weather, steep street…….as to why we Never get 6 day delivery, usually 4-5 and at times 3.

Yes and I have the solution. Take away their 13 holidays, it screws them up until they are dysfunctional. 1 holiday here, mail is disrupted 2 weeks. 1/2 inch snow last week and today is the first day I got mail in 7 days.

when worked there there wasnt no dei....you had to pass the test they give you and yes everyone had to get a decent mark to pass....even blacks and woman.....the problem with the PO is how it is run....middle management in the PO is pretty bad,lots of back stabbing....
