This city is paying reparations of $25,000 to Black residents—they say that's not enough

TOO FUNNY.

• Reparations from the city will only lead to discrimination lawsuits for those who live outside the city.
• Reparations are for housing practices only. Ca-ching. Ca-ching. Ca-ching.
• Blacks will be paying for their own reparations every time they toke up!
• It still ain't enough!
• Evanston will fork out big and end up with a bigger problem than before they started!

Moral of the story: you never appease someone by giving in to their demands. Ask any parent.

Or...your cynical and flawed world view won't happen. People will grow closer as a community..violence will go down. Time will tell.
My point, however..was and is, that local people acting as a community, making decisions as a community..and tell the Fed to **** off...is a good thing.
The fact that it's pretty much symbolic changes nothing. The fact that I disagree with reparations, at least on the national level changes nothing.
