Zone1 Remember Your Death

.

Yes, he is now St. Pio. Canonization, June 16, 2002.

They said he prayed up to 50 Rosaries a day.

I like having him in the passenger seat when I'm driving. Do you know about his promise to his spiritual children? He promised to wait at the gate of Heaven until every one of his spiritual children had entered, before he entered Heaven himself.

.
yeh, I read about that, how he would wait for his spiritual children b4 entering Heaven. I did NOT know he was canonized in 2002. That's shocking considering how un-Catholic the Vatican is and has been for decades. But I guess they figured they had no choice because the people... the people KNEW he was a saint... Plus so many books have been written about him.

People would have become Sedevacantists in droves if they hadn't canonized him.

(which will likely happen some day regardless)

I agree. Yes, suffering awaits all of us, but on the other side, the Commandments, Beatitudes, Parables, etc. are guides to joy. Life has both, and it it would be a shame to miss all the good fun we are meant to enjoy in this life despite the suffering that will also come our way.
Get out of here. Life is never about having fun except for children and even then, you have to discipline them so they don't grow up thinking that is all life should be... which reminds me, you are very likely young, at least under 40

Wait until you are older and we'll see how fun you think life is.

In any case, Jesus said few make it to Heaven, and I think one big reason is that people generally think they should not have to suffer... certainly not for their religious beliefs.

They are wrong. Ask Jesus, the Man himself.

This is a picture of St. Francis of Assisi contemplating a skull. While remembering your death was a philosophy as early as Socrates and Plato, it became a common practice/meditation of early Christians. How often do people today, pause and reflect on this: Remember your death.

What are your thoughts on this?

The only way I can see somebody remembering their death is if they reincarnated into their next life and remember stuff from their past life. There was a kid 20 or 30 years ago that remembered a past life as a WWII Navy pilot that was killed in that war. He knew stuff about his plane and his aircraft carrier that was never publicly known. So, believe it or not but how else can anyone remember their death?

you say this life is for having fun??

Just OMG!

How is it that my life has become more sorrowful and problematic since I decided to follow Jesus?

I have moments of great joy following Him... the Real Presence being the Best of the Best joys... However, when I am not with Jesus... I am

1) surrounded by anti-Catholics
2) misunderstood for what I believe
3) often lonely because few know what I know or care what I know

and I could go on with 4- 100

But I won't

Jesus said that His followers will be "hated by all men" Mk 13:13, Mt 10:22 (?)

doesn't sound too fun...
How many times do you find yourself thanking God? How often do you praise God for the beauty of nature, or ask God to bless the kindness of strangers? Do you not appreciate the laughter and smiles of children?

No, I don't do any of that. I'm actually just a bot

You are just like so many other posters here. You just want to be liked and so you act like the snarky ones around you, who are always insulting people for no valid reason. And yes, I am a people, not a bot (in case you don't understand sarcasm).

Here's a scripture in case you think you are better than me (which I totally suspect) better because you don't have as many miseries as I do:

God is no respecter of persons. You can Search it. But it is in the Bible.

What he allows in one person's life, he will likely allow in another (though details will likely vary). This is assuming we are talking about the Way to Heaven, which as Jesus said is NARROW. Why would He make it narrow for me but not for you? He wouldn't.

Think on that for awhile, if you can...

if you can tear yourself away from all your "fun"

Not even close.

When Jesus is at one's side, how bad does it get? The Holy Spirit guides one's speech; Jesus' peace is at hand.

"Remember your death" comes from the Latin, Memento mori, which means, Remember your death, or Remember you will die. It seems the second translation may better convey the meaning?

Now we wait for Venerable Fulton Sheen.

The narrow path is like the road less taken. I find it the better way.

It got bad for Jesus

So I guess according to you, God left his side?

well, maybe that is so...

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken Me?"

If even Jesus Christ can feel that way............... we can expect to also

The devil despises true Christians... so there's that

I heard somewhere that Sheen was a heretic, but I didn't get details... probably because he was listed with other heretics, no details...

There are heretics who don't realize they are such and then there are the heretics in the Vatican

You are wrong about many things.

All should search for truth.

Most people believe what they want to believe, especially when it comes to things that hurt their pride, etc..

The devil hates real Christians, those who love truth and Christ's Church.

And guess what?

In the Bible it says that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

so yeh, no wonder Jesus said

You will be hated by all men because of [Him]

Mk 1313
Mt 1022

You will be hated by all because most of that ALL

belong to the devil
live for this world
presume on God's mercy

If God had the level of "mercy" - so called - that some presumptuous Christians think He has... Jesus would never have called the Way Narrow

but of course He did. Some people think mercy is a way of getting away with "little" sins...

Will they find out when it is too late (they are in Hell) that they were wrong? We pray they find out sooner than that.

Are you old enough to remember Archbishop Sheen on a regular TV program? I just barely remember. When I was beginning my conversion, about 2 years ago, he was recommended by my teacher, and I simply LOVED him! I can see why the Vatican didn't want to see him canonized. Pray that Pope Leo will see otherwise.

My grandfather introduced me to family genealogy when I was ten, and immediately jumped into it. He was pursuing the male lines so I took a great interest in the female lines. I don't got go too far back past immigration to America, and while I pay attention to the work of others, I don't automatically accept it. And some lines are so tangled, I wonder if I'll ever get them untangled--but that's part of the fun. Even so, my fervent wish is not to run into anyone famous as those lines are the most tangled of all.
Yep it can be a mess. One branch ends abruptly by a "father unknown" on a birth certificate. A branch on the other side runs into a gee grand granny was from a county where seemingly half the damn women had the same name as her maiden name.

Please don't call that guy a pope. We've had no real popes since '58. He is just another Francis except more careful with his words.

Anyhow, I don't know enough about Sheen to comment, have only watched him a few times and then not the whole show..

What I like about Leo is that he cannot hide anything from us using translators. Never felt that I could trust a thing that Bergoglio's interpreters tried to sell me just because I don't speak Italian or fluent Spanish.

I never bothered listening to Francis regardless of what language he spoke because I knew from the beginning he was a manifest, obstinate heretic (a non-Catholic).

The Catholics are not in the Vatican anymore, haven't been for many moons now. It's all a farce. True Catholics are a small remnant. Yet, even so, it looks to me like Jesus really does confect the hosts in "new church."

Again, Jesus good
everyone else.. not

OK. Are there some people who need to be reminded that they ain't gonna live forever? Like, don't get too full of yourself? Or, if you don't watch out you'll end up in eternal Hell? Sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
