Trump and Hegseth have successfully beaten up the MIC to produce weapons and munitions in a more timely fashion without jacking up prices to ridiculous prices.

Mercenaries are regularly hired to do what our troops, and by extension our government, cannot do and in a manner that they are not allowed to do them in.

Mercenaries are always a means to "plausible deniability". The CIA uses "contractors" almost exclusively. Which has led to some uncomfortable questions for them at times.
