Irrelevant to the big picture. It is a matter of harsh realities, not feelings. Neither Canada or Denmark can defend their Arctic claims on their own. The Arctic is an ever growing flash point. We also have security and economic interest in those claims.

Annexing Greenland would change the game regarding control of the Arctic region and the North Atlantic.

Personally, I'd be happy to see that unfold, if... IF... Greenlanders were willing to "cut a deal" and become citizens.

I would not want it to be forced, and it's not the end-of-the-world if we can't make a deal.

Given that the bidirectional money-flow between Greenland and Denmark is minimal... a drop in the bucket...

I don't think that either party would "lose" much of anything by Greenland changing Mother Countries...

But... we would have to "sweeten the pot" enough in order to obtain their ( Greenlanders and Danes ) assent...

Working behind-the-scenes a bit to try to convince Greenlanders to come on-board isn't a bad thing in its own right...

But, as with most things, the devil's in the details and I'd have to know WHAT our people have been "up-to"...

Perhaps then I could offer-up a sensible judgment as to whether or not we're behaving ethically...
