Red States: Lower taxes because they are more dependent on the Federal Government

Red states are known for imposing lower taxes than blue states, but it appears they are able to do so because they are more dependent on federal funding. There was a 34.4 percent correlation between a state’s federal dependency and its tax rates, meaning the more dependent a state is on the federal government, the less likely it is to charge high tax rates. Red states had an average dependency ranking of 33.5, while blue states ranked 19.2 on average. Let’s take a look at the 10 states most dependent on the government, according to WalletHub.

10 States Most Dependent on the Federal Government

Hello! That's what I've been saying for the last couple of years.

All this boasting about "We have the lowest taxes" is because they are the biggest Welfare Queens. Hilarious.

It goes hand in hand with this study:

10 most corrupt states in America

Conservatives are just plain awful at government. No wonder they hate it so.

A good portion of Red States, such as Florida and Texas, for example, have per capita incomes lower than the national average. States w/no income tax may also create more jobs, but they tend to be low paying jobs. They get away w/having no income tax because they run surpluses with the rest of the country due comparative advantage.

Even worse, Red States try to lure skilled workers away from states that invest in it's own people. For instance, if Texas invested in it's OWN people, you wouldn't see politicians from Texas going to California and New York trying to lure workers away. If everyone invested in their workers the same, you might see California and New York trying to lure workers from Texas. It's so obvious.

That's the progressive tax system at work. What do you expect? States where wealthier people live will pay more than they get back. States where fewer wealthy people live wont. The people paying the taxes aren't necessarily representative of a majority within the state that make it "blue" or "red"

With Republicans, I thought it was all about "create wealth". Why are their states so poor? And that doesn't address the discrepancy on why Red States don't invest in education at a reasonable level. Seems luring workers from other states isn't fair to the Republican base.

Rtard at it again? The Obama economy eating shit despite a never ending trillion+ dollar stimulus during his entire presidency getting to Rtard?

Blue States are from Scandinavia, Red States are from Guatemala

A theory of a divided nation

In the red states, government is cheaper, which means the people who live there pay lower taxes. But they also get a lot less in return. The unemployment checks run out more quickly and the schools generally aren’t as good. Assistance with health care, child care, and housing is skimpier, if it exists at all. The result of this divergence is that one half of the country looks more and more like Scandinavia, while the other increasingly resembles a social Darwinist’s paradise.

Red States Mostly Welfare States Dependent On Blue States But Likely Too Uninformed to Know

Among the 254 counties where food stamp recipients doubled between 2007 and 2011, Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of them in last year’s presidential election, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. Kentucky’s Owsley County, which backed Romney with 81 percent of its vote, has the largest proportion of food stamp recipients among those that he carried.

Let's review basic math (examples of per capita spending):

Red State: $100 federal, $50 local, $150 total.

Blue State: $100 federal, $100 local, $200 total.

According to your "logic," the Red State is "more dependent" on federal dollars than the Blue State. Can't you see the fallacy of that argument?

Why do Republicans keep saying the truth is "debunked"? We can all go look up available government statistics. Perhaps they don't know how? Or are merely determined to "not know". You can't fix a problem if you refuse to believe it exists. What makes Republicans do different, they can't see something so obvious.

And the funny thing about that is Kentucky LOVES Kynect but they hate Obamacare. Only Kynect IS Obamacare in their state. Only by a different name. That's why good ol' boy Mitch refuses to speak out about Kynect.
