Red state farmers beg for Socialist handouts

This article is from March 2023 idiot. It deals with a moot point for U.S. farmers as Trump has been cancelling all green initiatives and legislation since January.
So you can't blame it on that. Nice try though.

It isn't just Arkansas either. Farmers all over the country are counting on government subsidies to pay their bills this year and for the forseeable future as long as Trump's tariffs continue to threaten to put them out of business.
The thing is, don't they know that these government bailouts are the very definition of the "Socialism" that they (red states) thought they were voting against last year?
Maybe for Republican voters (so called) "socialistic" programs are only "bad" or "evil" when OTHER people depend on them...but when THEY need a bit of government handout...not so much?

The Agricultural Council of Arkansas wrote a letter Aug. 18 to President Trump raising the "great sense of urgency" about economic conditions facing farmers and asking for "immediate assistance in delivering much-needed and meaningful support to help farmers with the pressures they face due to high input costs and depressed commodity prices."

The council cited that Arkansas farmers are projected to see a $1.145 billion shortfall for 2025, with crop expenses exceeding crop receipts.

"Without additional assistance, we fear that many family farm operations in Arkansas will be forced to shutter their operations as credit windows close."

Farmers have received some aid for prior year losses. More than 12,000 Arkansas farmers have collected payments under the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP). Arkansas producers have received another $62.5 million under the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP).

The damage is being done to farmers by Trump and Republicans in Congress. Farmers wanted Trump and they got him.

Welfare queens.

Economists tried to warn him as well. He simply called them "fake economists"...and that seemed to make their dire predictions "go away" for a little while at least.
But with Trump it's always all just a shell game
Hide the pea...shuffle the shells again, and then have everybody guess again which shell the pea is under this time.
Rinse and repeat.
So now that time has run out and the economic predictions are proving true, of course he'll try to shuffle the shells and simply repeat the trick again, but the economy is not playing anymore. People across the country are beginning to actually FEEL the results of his incompetent policies.
The jig is nearly up.
The frustrating thing -- well, ONE of the frustrating things about this, is that it's typical Trump, typical MAGA.

They look at a problem or issue that may be perfectly legitimate, in this case it's optimizing trade agreements. Great. That's completely reasonable. Let's work on that. Good.

But instead of approaching it intelligently, thoughtfully and with precision, he just beats the living shit out of it like a ******* caveman. He immediately destroys the critical economic relationships that America has built over 80 years by tossing out insane tariffs, changing the numbers constantly, making threats, intimidations, and mockery, throwing the entire global economy under the bus. Now our former friends are looking at other options and consider us a menace. This EASILY could have been done differently.

Just like with DOGE. Let's optimize government efficiencies. Great idea. Sign me up. The first thing we do is a careful audit of all departments by professionals who know that department inside and out. Then we make surgical cuts, watch them play out, adjust, make more tweaks. Rinse and repeat. Great. But no, he just beats the living shit out of it by tossing in an autistic billionaire who knows NOTHING about the department and dances around a stage WITH A CHAINSAW to celebrate its destruction.

And then, next up, ICE. Same ******* thing: Reasonable concern for a real problem, caveman approach to it.

Typical Trump, typical MAGA. Identify a real problem, turn it into a ******* reality TV shit show.

Its not like the people of states that have a large agricultural presence didn't know the blob was going to go crazy with tariffs. Its a shame that they were dumb enough to vote against their best interest anyway. All because the alternative was having a black woman as President.

It's the Worst Time to Be an American Farmer in Decades

Aug 3, 2025 — Rising debt, falling crop prices and labor force struggles are pushing America's farmers to the limit in 2025.

This growing financial pressure has also pushed up bankruptcies. Researchers at the University of Arkansas recently found that Chapter 12 filings—specifically for farmers and family fishermen—reached 88 in the first quarter of the year, nearly doubling the previous year's figure.

"Bankruptcies are on the rise and you will see many more on the auction block in the coming months especially this fall," said John Boyd, a crop and livestock farmer

Of course the Trump regime blames Biden...........

Over the last four years, the Biden administration left USDA in complete disarray and disfunction and that's why farmers were being left behind," a USDA spokesperson told Newsweek. "The entire farm economy has been hurt by Biden's inaction. Over the last four years, our trade agenda favored foreign competitors over America's farmers, ranchers, and producers."

Whatever you say.

Like you said before.

And before that.

And before that.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Still looking for your first.

Having good people in office is more preferred than having representatives of races and culture no matter if the abilities are inferior. The government has een giving money to farmers for many many decades. A major reason is to shut down a portion of their land each season as to revive it with nutrients for better crop yields. It also gives us access as consumers for fruits and vegetables for a longer period of time during the year.

God you retards on the left are uninformed. Why don't you look up the Democrats WAR ON SMALL FARMS here on the west coast you blithering idiot.

in the west, there is CUSP, which assists underserved small farms.

Because leftist big government put them in that position in the first place. Remember, it's the party of slavery. Know it. This was exactly what that party wanted - to control all the rudimentary corners of the American economy.

Show me a time in the last 50 years or so when farmers weren't asking for handouts. 😐
Goes back much further than 50 years. I think the first official subsidies were in 1933.

But government involvement in managing farm products/commodities whatever is not handouts so much as assisting farmers with risk management, price supports, etc. to ensure that the products produced by American farmers are not seriously interrupted.

We have cousins who raise beef cattle for a living. They are dedicated Democrats and pretty strong in their TDS, but they are pretty happy with the way the economy is going right now.

Im going to be very consistent here and agree with you. No subsidies for farmers. Let them sink or swim, if they can't make their land pay, they go under. The citizens of america will either have to import all there food, or starve to death.

So, let's take away their subsidies.
