As you know or-----or as you should know by now, just the opposite is true, carbon spills like the Exxon Valdez foul the water and surrounding habitat but-----but it's the ships that make it to their destination that end up as a preventable cause of global climate change.

If you had bothered to read the accompanying article you would have learned -on your own- without me having to teach you, i.e. post it for you.

Mike Coffey, Alaska Department of Transportation's statewide maintenance engineer, told the Alaska Dispatch the event was "extraordinary."

But so, too, were the conditions triggering the event.
The shifting polar vortex that is sending the eastern half of the Lower 48 into the deep freeze has pulled warm, moist air from the Pacific into Alaska.

More than three inches of rain fell in 24 hours in the mountains above Valdez, according to the Valdez Avalanche Center, destabilizing the snowpack.

Record warmth

Unheard-of temperatures in the 40s and even 50s added further stress. Records have dropped across Alaska this week: Nine were set on Monday alone.

Alaska sent all its cold down to America (Alaskans call the lower-48 .... or 56 if you're an Obamabot....those other states) to relieve all that painful Global Warming.

s0n.....when Alaska gets a 70 degree heat wave that last for 3 weeks in the middle of January, then maybe somebody will care. When you see waterskiing on a Fairbanks Lake in early February, then maybe somebody will care. Post photos please.
