Record 93,626,000 Americans not in labor force

The "job creators" better get busy then. Maybe we should gift them with some more tax cuts and wait another ten years to see if it trickles down.
Giving their money to you damn sure isn't working. Nothing seems to be trickling up.
Or you can wait for poor people to create jobs!
Who do you think will create a job first?
Why don't all these people bitching about the greedy business owners start their own businesses and show us how it's done?
They don't have the capital to invest, dumbass.
The banks make it hard to borrow to create a business, always have. I've always had to use my own illegal monies to start a legal business...

i thought the liberliars said the labor force was at an all time high ???

color me puzzled
It is. You see, we've had population growth. So while those not in the labor force stays around the same, the labor force grows.

But it is trickling up and never coming back. The top is making more money than they ever have but it is not translating into working class jobs.
No, wealth isn't created by breathing air. If it isn't there it can't trickle anywhere. The top is in bed with big government and laughing all the way to the bank. Small business can't compete.
Small business is screwed because wages have remained flat for decades. The working class has nothing left after they pay for energy/debt/insurance/medical, big business is getting it all.
When the GOP passed legislation in 2003, it created monopolies again in the US.....and the ability to legally hide assets offshore...

Hey dumbfuck, I started two businesses with very little capital.

WOW! The discredited Stockman bullshit again.

Small business and big business will have to pay more for help with an increasing economy. Creating difficulties for business means less competition for the big boys because they can afford departments to handle all the regulations. Bigger government=smaller private sector=less jobs=worse economy=more income disparity.

color me puzzled

There is also a record 321,208,800 Americans in existence.

Population Clock

LOL!

It's amazing how few of the Left have any sense of simple mathematics.

Quite right. You leftists keep confusing gross volume with proportion.

It is! There were 154 million in the labor force when Bush left and there are 157 million now. And that is with record numbers of Boomers retiring from the labor force the whole time!

Practically all the gains have been at the top, regulations are not the drag on the economy that conservatives make them out to be. The lack of disposable income, the shortage of consumer credit and the disappearance of job security is a much more relevant problem. If the business was there businesses would simply pass on the costs of business to their customers as they always do.

Yes... of course. Because 93 million is not close to one third of the ENTIRE POPULATION that is NOT WORKING.

Which without any study of how many of those are below the age of consent, too old, medically incapable of work, incarcerated, morally unsuited, etc..., we can readily deduce that the percentage of those capable of working, but who are not working is well above 1/3rd.

You see the two values of total population and 'not working' remain static... So the percentage of 'Unemployed' from the ranks of the OTHERWISE ABLE BODIED... grows, with each strike from the Total Population count.

That percentage is:

42.9% UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE UNITED STATES.

Record 93,626,000 Americans not in labor force

That's because corporate business is making such monstrous profits, it doesn't have to create another 93 million jobs. If corporations had to pay taxes, their profit margins would be smaller and would have to hire more workers to make up for smaller profits. As long as corporations are given a free ride, this will continue. The rich created the national debt, and I guarantee, that eventually they will have to pay it off, because they have the money, not the peasants.

Just as labor statistics lie, this article is no better. The situation was expected decades ago and continually has been reported over that span in relation to concern over Social Security. Expect the number to increase to far greater numbers as only the first wave of Baby Boomers has just reached retirement age.

only those with an IQ of 25 or under, those in a coma and cockroaches actually believe we have 5.4 unemployment.
Funny how when Shrub had 5.4% unemployment, cons touted it was real.
how can anyone brag about the Obama 5.4% unemployment rate when we all know it really closer to 35%? in other words, 93 Million under/not employed Americans represents 5.5(ish) per-cent of America?

Yes... of course. Because 93 million is not close to one third of the ENTIRE POPULATION that is NOT WORKING.

To be more precise, it is 29.4% of the population. Does that seem like a shocking number to you?

Which without any study of how many of those are below the age of consent, too old, medically incapable of work, incarcerated, morally unsuited, etc..., we can readily deduce that the percentage of those capable of working, but who are not working is well above 1/3rd.

A simple google search would have fixed that problem for you. Instead, you thought it would be better to just run your mouth. After all, what could possibly be go wrong with running your mouth before you know what you're actually talking about? Just jump up and down and say that nearly a third of the population isn't participating in the workforce. It'll work out great!

It's not like Swimexpert's going to smack your bitch ass down with fact and figures, showing that we have always had at least one third of the population not participating in the workforce. Nope, not going to happen. Anyone waiting for it to happen better grab a chair and get comfortable. Long wait ahead of you.

Oh, and while you're waiting, feel free to study this graph from the BLS showing historic workforce participation rates since the 1940s.
