Recall the racist Red Lobster receipt story a month back? HOAX

Where I live it's the not like that, the regulars get treated better.

I live in Los Angeles, what part of Cali are you from?

I go to Los Angeles a lot, have some family there. I attended Pepperdine over in Malibu. And my wife attended USC. I now live in the city of Corona. Prior to living here I lived in Alta Loma for many years near Chaffey College and taught there twice a week.

I can understand how regulars are treated better in some places. But in areas that rely on tourism it's always been the opposite for me. They seem to take the regulars for granted and always want to know what it's like where you came from.
Where in Corona? Lincoln, Buena Vista, Grand?

No, actually off of Weirick road by the 15 freeway just up the hill from the shopping center..a development called the Retreat...lived here since 2006. Bought in the last phase. Nice community, most of the neighbors are Orange County transplants. However there is a little joint over on 6th Street near the Civic Center called Burger Basket, that I ride through occasionally. My wife likes their Ceasar Salads. And their club sandwiches are excellent. If you know the area you should try them.

This happens all the time. The controlled media always plays up the "victim of racism" angle and buries the followup that shows it was all a hoax.

Racist Red Lobster receipt may be hoax, analysts say | The Daily Caller

10/30/2013

The racial slur a Red Lobster waitress claimed to receive on a receipt in lieu of tip may have been a hoax, according to two separate handwriting analyses.

One handwriting analyst concluded that whoever wrote “none” on the tip line was not the same person who wrote the racial epithet. The second analyst believes the racist comment could have been written by the waitress herself.

Toni Christina Jenkins, a server at a Red Lobster in Franklin, Tennessee, posted a picture on her Facebook page of a receipt with the word “none” written in the area usually reserved for a tip.

Below that, the word “******” was scrawled.

The receipt clearly showed the name of the customer, Devin Barnes, who is white. Jenkins, who is black, said that she was not aware that Barnes’ name was shown on the receipt and posted it online to make a point about racism, not to target Barnes.

But Barnes, 20, denied writing the derogatory word.

Barnes, who was dining at the Red Lobster with his wife, did acknowledge that he wrote the “none” portion on the receipt. He said that he and his wife had to leave in a hurry and had to get their food to go.

Barnes’ attorney and pastor, Richard Dugger, hired Thomas Vastrick, an independent handwriting expert who has worked as a specialist for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, to compare the receipt to writing samples provided by Barnes and his wife.

Vastrick determined that it was “more likely than not” that whoever wrote “none” was not the same person who wrote the racist word.

“There is evidence to indicate that Devin Barnes (K-1) did not write the Total entry on Exhibit Q-1,” he concluded.

Dugger said that he plans to file a lawsuit against “responsible parties,” possibly as early as next week.

“It’s scary to think people get away with this kind of stuff,” Dugger told The Daily Caller News Foundation

Funny how conservatives noticed that and not one leftist did.

but Im sure the analysis guys are white and therefore racist as well

That's a lie. My wife and I always leave 15 to 20%...and if we are on vacation, even more.

You sound like some pissed off waiter who works at Denny's cleaning tables.

Sorry to tell you, but if you're black you're the exception, not the rule. I waited tables for three years while in college and Vidor is correct. Black people notoriously tip horribly. I don't know the reason for it, but I would estimate about out of every ten black customers you'll be lucky to get more than 10% from maybe two of them. Anyone who has waited tables will tell you the same thing.

Lol, obviously i am black or I would not have commented on such an ignorant generalization. The tips you received probably was based more on the type of establishment you worked at. If it was just a mediocre place. you probably did get stiffed or felt you did.

When we dine out, we normally spend anywhere between 100.00 to 150.00 on ourselves, and if we take people with us much more. And our friends and relatives all tip the same.

So no, even if you did wait tables, I would bet that I personally know and socialize with more black people than you do and all that I know are generous to "the help".

Liar

I waited tables and tended bar.

And your point is what? I'm speaking for myself and those in my circle of family and friends....not to stereotypes.

If you waited tables and tended bar in an economically challenged area and gave poor service that's probably why your tips were not good.

That has nothing to do with me or those who I know. No reason for me to "lie" about that.

She spent the $10,000 already. She had to spend it before she was ordered to give it back after being proven to be the one who wrote the slur.

I doubt if that story about some idiot giving her $10,000 is even true. This girl can't be believed on anything.

Any decent person would leave at least 15% not matter what the establishment is, except fast food, or if you get lousy service.

If the customer had been black no tip would have been expected. They don't do tips.

Oh yeah there we go

Sorry, but this stereo type was earned fair and square. I worked in the club industry for years, and the bar tenders would bitterly fight over who had to work on Hip Hop nights, because they would make 75% less in tip money for the same size crowd. They would go from making $400-$500 in tips on a normal night, to making like $150 on hip hop nights. The black community are awful tippers, no question.

Don't like that fact? Then do something to change it. We would all welcome some positive change in that culture.

Either you weren't waiting on an entirely black crowd, or YOU are lying. I bartended for years in Seattle, and EVERYONE in that industry universally acknowledges they are awful tippers. Its not racism, its simply an unfortunate fact about the black community.

Because they are used to taking, not giving. They feel entitled. Somebody in this thread wrote something stupid about "don't expect good tips in mediocre establishments", or something like that. I guess that means mainstream places like my neighbor's daughter who works at Red Lobster, who has recounted on numerous occasions that the blacks are scumbags. It's not even that they don't tip, they treat her like a piece of shit, and this is a sweet girl, very well mannered, etc. Interesting though is how nearly all of her other customers (non-black) usually tip adequately or well. She said groups of old ladies after Sunday church are bad tippers too, but they think two-bits is actually still worth something and while they are cheap, they are not nasty.

This girl has had customers not tip on checks well over $100, and the shit Darden management does nothing, and does not help compensate for her losses at those times. She's working to find better employment. I can tell anyone looking for waiting jobs, avoid Darden restaurants at all costs.

And speaking for myself, as I said that's what I do, and more often than
not, will exceed that. Considering the attitudes of some posting in this thread who claim to have waited tables, they probably were quite nasty towards black patrons when they were "forced" to wait on them, which may be the real reason they got a lousy tip.

When we dine out, we normally spend anywhere between 100.00 to 150.00 on ourselves,
150.00 for just two, what restaurant is that?

Several. Mario's Place in Riverside, Duane's at the Mission Inn, Phil's at The Doubletree in Ontario. At all of them an appetizer, wine, drinks, an entree and desert for two easlily exceed 100.00 to 150.00.

Kat is trying to "big-man" it again. All blacks are like that. He's a dumpster-diver and everybody knows it.

Not at all, you retarded, four legged , oxygen thief. Just contributing again to one of your stupid threads for entertainment, upgrading your inbred, hillbilly logic with some common sense and complete sentences, as well as talking about some of my own experiences. You have probably never even been to a mediocre place like Red Lobster except to clean the toilets, sweep the floor and wash the dishes.

And before I forget, what was your SAT score again? And what was your GPA in college?

Any place that has a wine list could be...will be over a 100 dollars. You could spend a 100 dollars on just wine.

Exactly. I am beginning to realize that some who are posting in this thread don't get out very much.

Blacks don't tip because they can't figure out 15% of the bill. Have no conception. You ask a black "is 15% of 50 closer to 2 or to 35?" and they can't tell you. Very few blacks can even do third grade arithmetic.

Likewise most blacks can't tell time and that's why they never show up at the right time for appointments. Anything that involves numbers is beyond them. It's also why they are always trying to overcharge on their EBT cards and hold up the line at walmart. They have no idea whether the merchandise in their cart is approximately $10 or $200!!!
