I didn't think the MPM had any value before that. LONG before that. The truth has value, but unfortunately what we've been getting for a very long time is distortions, half-truths, innuendo, misinformation and outright lies. I don't know if the profession if journalism has ever been totally honorable and trustworthy since it is comprised of people who have their own biases, but in recent decades those qualities have diminished IMHO. You tell me, who do you trust that has different political aims?
