My comment just above gives a modernist “Tom Paine” - like take on this matter.

The idea that Judaism rejects Christ as the “Messiah” and “Son of God” … really seems to bother religious Christians like theHawk and nomadic5 .

For anyone actually interested in the many and various currents of Jewish “messianic” thought as they arose after the third century B.C., just go to Wikipeda:

And you say that Jesus was the son of Gd and that only those who believe in him are “saved.” As if everyone else goes to hell.

Yes, several real historians who lived after Jesus Christ’s reported crucifixion do mention a man — worshipped as a Messiah by his followers — was reputed to have “existed.”

But I am talking about the miracles Jesus Christ supposedly accomplished — like walking on water and returning from the dead. Actually, these “miracles” are not attested to by any “real historians” … and they don’t even seem very radical compared to what a real god ought to have been able to accomplish … with no trouble at all!
