Rand Paul Uses a Talking Point STRAIGHT FROM PUTIN'S PLAYBOOK - Defends Russia - Says Ukraine Used to be part of RUSSIA

We can't assassinate Putin until after he assassinates Biden.
Stop. Even I’d try to stop anyone from harming Brandon. He’s a senile old racist fuckwit, but he is our President. And I don’t want US to assassinate Putin. I want a valorous Russian general to do it.

BLINKEN: If you look at the countries Russia attacked, these were countries that were not part of NATO
RAND PAUL: You could also argue the countries they've attacked were part of Russia

Rand Paul has tossed away the mask, and is straight-up using Russian talking points right now in the US Senate. Rand went ON RECORD to yell at the US Secretary of State and defended Putin's war of children and civilians by saying "Yeah well some folks would say it belongs to Russia".

Now granted, he is obviously completely wrong. If you open a map (or Google "Ukraine") you would see it is in fact a country, and not Russia. But perhaps that is too much effort (for someone 5 or younger). What are your thoughts?

Ayn Rand Paul is a crazy Liebertarian NaziCon! No wonder his neighbor beat the shit out of him!

Okay a valorous American can do it.

No no. We should be above and beyond that shit. But a patriotic Russian general doing it? That would be momentous. Terrific. Stupendous. Glorious. Magnificent. Noble. Virtuous. And neat-o.
A patriotic American could do it too. In fact, take Austin and Milley out too. Win win win.

Ukraine used to be part of the USSR, folks, not Russia.

Holy shit. Goddamn, this just gets worse.
This is not true.

Ukraine was part of Russia over 100 years ago under Tsar Nicholas.

Stop spreading fake news CNN.

You've never followed history......, Paul is correct if you've ever followed the history of the USSR.

America did used to be part of Britain
Great Britain was an ocean away
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some poster above has already pointed out that Alaska used to be part of Russia.
And Russia today ain't an "ocean away."
It's 55 miles.

And too, Texas used to be part of Mexico.
And they are a lot closer than even 55 miles.

Ukraine only became part of tbe Russian Empire when Catherine the Great annexed it. It wasn’t “always” part of Russia.

it does not matter!

Russia recognized Ukraine to be sovereign country in the 90's after USSR fell apart and Ukrainians freely and overwhelmingly voted to separate.

Russia does not get to change their mind suddenly 30 years later. There are no sorta-kinda-sovereign countries, there are JUST sovereign countries.

Russia has ZERO claim to any Ukranian soil. None. And useful American idiots like Paul deserve a place in hell for carrying water for Putin and his bloody war of choice.

WRONG!

The conflict is NOT about the entire Ukraine, but the eastern half, which is traditionally Russian and populated by Russian.
And the problem is the Azov Battalion is a bunch or racist fascists who have been murdering ethnic Russians in the Ukraine since 2014.
They have murdered over 14k ethnic Russian.
And these easter provinces, like the Donetsk and Crimea, were part of Russia for over 1000 years.
It was not till 1955 that Khrushchev the Ukrainian, illegally gave them to the Ukraine.
Anyone claiming that Russia does not have a right to the Donetsk, Crimea, and a few other provinces, is totally ignorant.

And as far as the rest of the invasion, Putin is also justified.
The Ukraine has already been found guilty of stealing Russian oil and has refused to pay the fines.
They also violated 1992 treaties by trying to join NATO in order to put nukes on Russia's border.
And it was Zelensky who actually started the war by cutting off negotiations.
You can't do that when you have committed acts of war.
That makes the invasion totally justified.
It is Zelensky and the US who are the criminals in this case.

Ukraine gave up its nukes for the promise of protection from russian invasion

I think we should keep that promise

No, because part of the negotiations also included that the Ukraine would never join any alliance hostile to Russia, like NATO.
So the Ukraine forfeit the 1992 treaty by the violation of constantly trying to join NATO in order to put nukes on Russia's border, an obvious act of war.

And by the way, the nukes in the Ukraine were never Ukrainian.
They did not make them, have the launch codes, know how to program them, etc.

Pure horseshit, 14% of Kiev's population are ethnic Russians and live just fine among Ukranians, speaking any language they wanted.

Conflict in the east stemmed from 2014 Russian invasion of crimea and their support of separatists in Dombass region. It has NOTHING to do with who lived there and everything to do with Ukraine's territorial integrity.
