Some people chose to rent instead of own for their own reasons. Tenants/renters shouldn’t be discriminated against. Now, with tent city residents, do they have the right to vote? Yes, if they pay taxes, or are physically disabled (although many pay taxes who can and do work) or show ID. Ah, the horror! Somebody calling for ID’s to show proof a voter is who they claim to be!

A voter test could take care of that to prove they know something about the candidates’ platform. Can you imagine? People would have to learn about the candidates they support on paper! IMHO, it’s more important to target the other end to make these candidates show their worth via testing. That’s the way forward, yet the congressional fossils on the hill will never allow that to occur nor will the newcomers. They don’t want to take a test to show they have any knowledge.
