Funny how often I read how brainwashed and cultish Trump supporters are, and I'm often touted as one of Trump's biggest supporters here, and who knows--- maybe I am. But then when I give an HONEST assessment of Trump's or his campaigns faux pas, missteps or mistakes (usually with corrective action offered), how quickly I get TWO responses:
- I've never gotten a single admission much less confirmation from any lefty here that yes, I am not brainwashed, nor cultish, and actually AM very fair and balanced!
- How quickly some of the big Rah-Rah full time Trump supporters here begin giving me negative reps. That almost makes me laugh and speaks volumes for these people.
Very revealing.
- Fact of the matter is that I by and large DO NOT support the GOP anymore, they have really disappointed me in recent years. But I certainly do not support the Dems neither.
- I DO support a number of republicans IN the GOP, including Trump (for the most part), Keri Lake, MTG, Gaetz, Bobert, and a few others.
- Those whom I support in the GOP, I support NOT because they are in the GOP or because they are a republican, but I support the individual and their policies.
- While the Dems are almost NEVER publicly critical of their candidates, they surely continually reassess them internally and adjust. If the GOP is not willing to do as much, they will lose very often. But yes, the GOP is often critical of SOME their own candidates PUBLICLY, especially Trump! Enter the RINOS. One of the reasons why the GOP lose so often because they find no unity. To those who blindly support Trump just because because 24/7, I submit you ARE being cultish, and putting party above politics. I support Trump simply because he is a million miles better than any democrat, and has more pull than anyone else in the GOP. Trump is like star in the firmament--- he has natural charisma unlike anyone else in the GOP. He should have been in office these past four years; the question now is whether he has it in himself to do another four years starting from next January--- age is catching up to him.
- Was Trump the best choice to run this time? We will never know, but surely, some others in the GOP at least worthy of consideration who might have been good candidates to run now or in the future include: DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Vance, even Lake and possibly Haley.
BOTTOM LINE: If you BLINDLY support Trump 24/7 just because--- whatever and are never willing to see much less admit mistakes and missteps he does, you are doing both yourself and Trump a disservice. People who think Trump is god-- perfect, will never make course corrections and will blindly go into this election with false bravado expecting the best--- and they might just end up being very disappointed. A lesson I learned long ago is that CHANCE FAVORS THE PREPARED, and one of the best ways to prepare is to expect the WORST, but hope for the best.
I've heard tell that Trump has some people close to him protecting him that do not always have the best advice for him, legal or otherwise, even with the best of intentions--- if that is true, I just hope it doesn't hurt him too badly in the long run.
If it helps any, yes, I DO agree with much of Nicki Haley's recent criticisms and suggestions for the Trump campaign. Get it together GOP people!
