A group seeking the release of hundreds of people accused of committing crimes in Washington on Jan. 6 is planning to hold a rally at the U.S. Capitol on Sept. 18.
The rally is being organized by Look Ahead America, a nonprofit group that says it advocates for disaffected Americans who are ignored by both political parties and the government.
More than 600 people have been charged with a range of crimes for alleged actions in early January at the U.S. Capitol, when protesters and rioters breached the building, interrupting joint session of Congress.
Many of those charged remain in jail pending trial, even some who aren’t accused of carrying out acts of violence.
“We’re demanding justice for the Jan. 6 political prisoners. We’re demanding justice for the people who had their lives destroyed by the FBI, rounding them up like terrorists, when they committed no crimes of violence or simply [were] aggressively exercising their First Amendment rights,” Matt Braynard, founder and executive director of Look Ahead America, told The Epoch Times.
“We’re protesting the denial of bail, the denial of medical care, the denial of access to attorneys to nonviolent protesters who have still been held by the federal government now going on nine months.”
The “Justice for J6” rally is also aimed at “pushing back against the narrative that there ever was an insurrection,” said Braynard, who once worked for former President Donald Trump’s campaign and has said he was inspired by Trump to create the nonprofit.
Some of the people in prison awaiting trial on charges linked to Jan. 6 have said they went to the Capitol at Trump’s behest, with a subset blaming him for what they did.
Trump was impeached by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives while still in office for allegedly inciting an insurrection; he was acquitted by the Republican-held Senate.

This is PURE INTIMIDATION. Nothing More. This is our OUT OF CONTROL Gov’t asserting themselves, EXACTLY as a BANANA REPUBLIC exerts their power of INTIMIDATION against anyone who dares to disagree with WORTHLESS Gov’t Bureaucrats.
I say this with full knowledge.
The VAST MAJORITY of Gov’t Employees are self-centered, worthless POS. They care about no one or anything but their pensions. Theirs is not a Patriotic, America, Freedom-loving bone within them.
Most of them, in the days of the Revolution, would gladly have joined Benedict Arnold in sabotaging the budding American country without a moment’s thought.
Gov’t Employees are some of the WORST POS you will ever meet. Selfish, Disloyal, Worthless, and a Clear and Present Danger to ALL PATRIOTIC AMERICANS!!!
These poor anti-American A-holes could have avoided any of this by simply staying out of the capital, instead of attacking in mass. The government and the election recording went right on after brief interruption, because these A-holes were not only stupid and anti-American, but also totally ineffective in achieving the desired results of their attacks. It is their fault. They chose this path, thinking they would get away with it and be back safe in their homes in a day or two, and they might even get to overthrow the election and maybe kill an enemy elected politician or two. Well, they did not, because they were stupid and easily identified on camera, including their own cameras. Now their lives are totally screwed up, because they were stupid, lacked self-discipline and only loved their political party instead of their country.
I do not generally believe people are re-habilitated in jail, but most of these were normal people prior to this, not criminal punks. This continuing pretrial confinement, may in fact teach them not to participate in anti-American activities the next time their trumpian leaders point them toward and objective, instead of moving like lemmings, following the crowd and may reinforce using individual thought and self-discipline and personal responsibility.

It has everything to do with the extreme reactions from the usual suspects demanding blood and that anyone who was even at the rally be destroyed. Do you seriously think that a bunch of rioters the democrats support would be held this long without trial?
I don't think this has anything to do with political leanings. Nope, it's about the LAW. Some of these bastards were ordered held pending trial by Republican judges in red states.

The fired ex-FBI angry left wing knuttjob Karen McCabe is fanning the flames of fear about the DC protest against the Corrupt Democrat Party's election rigging crimes.
The Election Audits are showing wide spread Democrat election rigging and voter fraud crimes.
McCabe was part of Barry Obama's abuse of power with the FBI and DOJ in their illegally spying upon Trump.
The Corrupt Democrat Party is a danger to our democracy.
They are like a third world banana republic criminal cult.

Are you implying that people have been held in jail for close to half a year for nothing more than trespassing charges?? Can you give any examples of this?
That is correct. There are at least a couple hundred charged only with non-violent trespassing. By in large, these people paid a fine, maybe did some community service and are free.

I don't have to. I'm not aware of any charges being filed that are more serious than trespassing and assault. Are you? That means that people have been held for these months without trial, some without any charges and some with nothing more than trespassing charges. That is the point.

Crap or get off the pot. Charge these people and hold trials or release them.
Nothing more serious than assaulting a police officer? Sorry pal, that's a felony. And there are close to forty Proud Boys and militia goons who've been charged with conspiracy.

The weirdest thing about the terrorists who attacked Congress on Jan. 6 is that nobody ever did anything so bad to them that they might have had even a hint of a legitimate justification for their anger and their attack. Nobody did anything remotely similar when trump was imposed on the country by the electoral college, and that was horrific. Did somebody forget to kiss some right-winger's boo-boo or something?

The mere fact that it's happened to others in no way excuses it happening to them. Basically, they're being turned into political prisoners. If the government doesn't have anything stronger than trespassing to charge them with, it's way past time to let them go with time served, and recompense those held the longest.
Bullshit, the impact of the mob on Jan 6th was not a peaceful assembly. It was an effort to overturn the election, incited by the loser President and even some members of The Congress.

STATEMENT: "Many of those charged remain in jail pending trial, even some who aren’t accused of carrying out acts of violence."

RESPONSE: Those still incarcerated have the rights to an attorney and to a bail hearing. If they are still in custody they have been indicted for serious felonies and cannot afford high bail. OR's are then out of the question in most of them, or they may be mentally unstable and held as a danger to themselves or others.

And we won't know until they get to trial, something the government is not doing.
Oh more bullshit. Each defendant appears before an initial hearing, a Court proceeding in which the defendant learns of his rights and the charges against him and the judge decides bail.

I’ll ask again… Can you show any examples of people being held for half a year on trespassing charges?
To answer your question, damn skippy.

Federal law provides misdemeanor and felony penalties for trespassing acts occurring in Capitol buildings and on Capitol grounds. These acts range from unlawful entry to discharging weapons.

A person who commits the following acts faces up to six months' imprisonment and a $5,000 fine:

  • enters or remains on the floor or in the gallery of the U.S. Senate or House chambers without authorization
  • obstructs or impedes passage through or within the Capitol building or grounds
  • damages or destroys property in Capitol buildings or on Capitol grounds, or
  • assaults an individual in a Capitol building or on Capitol grounds.

Middle class, suburban ghetto.
Sedition is not a violent act, per se. Nor is treason, yet both are felonies. The first amendment [the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances].

See: Sedition - FindLaw

"Suppose that over the course of a few months, a small band of armed militants has coordinated strategies to distribute firearms and take over the nation's capital by force through a website on the clandestine "deep web." All indications show that the group is dead serious in its intentions, but they're thwarted by an FBI investigation that leads to arrests. While sharing information and discussing ideas -- even distasteful ones -- is generally protected as free speech, the FBI believes this crosses the line. The alleged ringleaders of the plot are charged with "seditious conspiracy" (simply referred to as "sedition"), a federal crime related to treason and other anti-government offenses.

"Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it. The following provides an overview of this particular crime against the government, with historical references."
Sedition is Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen circumventing the constitution in an effort to make DC a state and ensure two more democrat senators. Sedition is states bypassing the constitution in order to change election rules to effect a stolen potus election.
That’s sedition. And you support and excuse it.

But if they’re allowed and invited onto those grounds by security then you don’t have a crime. Unless you consider that allowance to be a speed trap.

Horseshit. Nobody invited anyone in to the Senate or House chambers and that action was specifically addressed in my link. Six months, five grand. When that entry is gained by force or violence, which most certainly happened in this case, the charge jumps to a felony, which is five years in jail and a quarter of a million dollar fine. Better yet, impeding a Congressional proceeding, WHICH WAS THE STATED PURPOSE OF THE WHOLE RIOT, is a FELONY, punishable with five years of active prison time. If that act is conducted using intimidation or coercion, "We are coming for you Nancy", actively displaying nooses, that type of thing, it becomes punishable with up to eight years of jail time. Those morons sitting in jail might as well get used to it.
