Dick Coffee died this week at the age of 91.
He may have been the ultimate college football fan. He had not missed a Crimson Tide football game since 1946. 781 consecutive games! Rain, shine, snow, cold, heat, Mr. Coffee was at the game for 4 full quarters. He attended 51 bowl games. His last game was in Miami watching his beloved University of Alabama beat Notre Dame to win another National Championship.
I was fortunate enough to meet the nice old guy a couple of time, at a ballgame, of course.
That is true dedication.
