Voter rolls need to be purged since it's not required to alert the election board when you move, die, or become too ill to vote. And where did this ridiculous notion come from that Republicans run our entire election system anyway? If you live in a Democrat area, voting places, workers, and hours are set by the Democrats, not the Republicans. It's just like the gerrymandering myth that only Republicans get to do it and not Democrats.
Sure there are government dependent people all over, but the highest concentration of those people are in big cities renown for being Democrat run. NYC for example has over 7.5 million people. That's more people than the ten lowest populated states in our country combined.
People who are willing to take the trouble to vote in person are generally people who care, and people who care are usually much more knowledgeable about politics and issues. People who get mailed a ballot don't really care. All they know is to vote for a D. They know little to nothing about what's really going on in this country, just vote for D. Democrat sounds like democracy, and democracy is a good thing, right?????
By restricting mail-in to only those who can't under any condition vote in person, it weeds out all the politically ignorant people. Imagine how much better leadership we would have if only people who knew about politics and issues voted. Biden would have never come close to winning the election.
I want to focus on this statement,
People who are willing to take the trouble to vote in person are generally people who care, and people who care are usually much more knowledgeable about politics and issues. People who get mailed a ballot don't really care.
Obviously, we get our news from different sources. For me the primary source is NPR, for you, I am guessing it is FOX news. But let me pose two scenarios to you. FIrst, we have Joe, call him Joe Sixpack. He works hard, is not really involved in politics to a huge degree, and dutifully shows up on election day to vote in person. While he may know a little something about the top of the ticket, although he probably never bothered to watch a debate, he knows little to nothing about the down ballot. For state house, he just toes the party line. Knows nothing of issues, positions, or even the background of the candidates. If you want an example of that playing out just look at all the election deniers that got their asses handed to them. Down ballot, Republicans toed the party line. But for election deniers, they got a resounding, STFU.
Then there is Biff, picked a nice yuppie name on purpose. He votes by mail. He gets his ballot and he spends days going over it, examining each candidate, evaluating their positions, researching their backgrounds, and he honestly don't give a happy shit what party they are affiliated with, he wants to know where they stand. While Joe Sixpack takes all of ten minutes to make his choices, Biff spends hours over several days, maybe even a couple of weeks, to make his.
Now you tell me, which is the more educated voter. Your definition of politically ignorant people are those people that don't agree with you. An amazing amount of narcissism there, as if you are the smartest person on the planet. I mean take you and me. You probably think I am an idiot simply because I am on the exact opposite side of the fence as you when it comes to politics. And hey, I will admit, and I will apoligize, that I have called you ignorant. Perhaps the better word is misinformed. But when you are misinformed on purpose it starts to reach the level of ignorant.
Me, I am adjusting stock portfolios to start leveraging the advantages of Bioorthogonal Chemistry. Hell, spellcheck is flagging the term it is so unknown. But it is cutting edge and could provide the magic bullet for numerous cancers. Want to talk about astrophysics or astrobiology, I am your man. Anthropology, yep, I am your man. And these are just hobbies, professionally, come to me about Macroeconomics, Finance, and most of all, Leadership. The confidence game, the game that Trump plays, I have studied it for decades. Was fascinated with it before I even graduated from High School. Could never do it, but was really enthralled with how it was done. The dynamics and psychology behind it. Lesson number one, the easiest mark is another confidence man.
I will never forget my grandfather's funeral. Hundreds of people were there. It was huge. He grew up a migrant farm worker and built a nice profitable farm, raised four very successful children, and much of that came from the poker table at the local firehouse, despite the fact that he couldn't read or write. Five foot nothing, but meaner than a snake and would fight an elephant if push came to shove, and probably kick their ass. 83 years old and not a gray hair in his head. A stone cold fox to the very end. Dozens of times, speaking with retirees and telling them who my grandfather was and the women's eyes would roll back into their heads.
But there was Dad, sternly telling me, "You see all these people, they are the salt of the earth, don't you ever forget that". I am not going to block those people's ability to vote. I am not going to condemn them as ignorant. It is my job, just like it was Grandpaw's, and yeah, he was a yellow dog Democrat if there ever was one, to convince them otherwise.
Look, the greatest president of our generation was Johnson. Yes, he was an asshole, a huge asshole, but he got er done. But dealing with the cards he was dealt, Biden is quickly catching up. A razor thin majority in the House, a split senate that includes dickshit Manchin, despite that Biden has delivered. A country devastated by Covid, international reputation torn to shreds by a narcissistic dumbass orange man, Biden has fought right through that. A completely dysfunctional Republican contingent in both the House and the Senate, he has overcame much of that. I am so sorry you can't see that. And with that being said, don't ever claim that the other side is ignorant again.
