No one is saying that open borders is a good thing for the country, and in fact, the border is not open. “Open borders” is just a dishonest trope that you people made up, and keep repeating. Migration is a fact of life as are asylum seekers fleeing violence and poverty elsewhere. U.S. and international law requires that those asylum seekers be allowed entry and a chance to make their case for being allowed to stay. In addition, we lack the resourced to stop other undocumented people from entering the country, due, at least in part -to Republican obstructionism. Yet the current administration is apprehending thousands of people crossing the border daily, to the best of their ability

Of course inflation hurts. The more intelligent and appropriate question is why was there high inflation and who has a plan to combat it. The cause of inflation can be traced to the pandemic and the war in Ukraine that caused supply chain disruptions and a supply/demand imbalance . To call it a Biden/Harris inflation is equal parts dishonest, and stupid.
Largely, market forces that are not in the control of any individual or government will take care of it in the long run and it’s already happening. At the same time there are some actions that can be taken that affect inflation Harris wants to implement some price control to combat corporate greed. While controversial, it is, at least an attempt to do something. And no, it is not Soviet Style” Communism. On the other hand, Trump wants to raise tariffs, and cut taxes for the wealthy which are sure to exacerbate inflation as it did in his first term. He also asked Saudi Arabia and Russia to cut oil production to keep prices high

Your question presumes that we- or any county -can or must be either Socialist or not, which only serves to dumb down acomplex issue Socialism-in various forms - has been working since the early 20th century when Teddy Roosevelt launched the Progressive Movement on the principle that government exists to make peoples lives better and not just an end in itself.
Socialism exists on a continuum. At one end you have unfettered Laissez Fair Capitalism, which-as history informs- resulted in events like the great depression, as well as social ills such as massive pollution of the environment, child labor and other forms of exploitation, unsafe consumer products , and abject poverty with no social safety net
At the other end of the spectrum you have a system where the means of production are owned and operated by the government, there is no private property and Capitalism is prohibited. It is at that point where Socialism as an economic system morphs into Communism and merges with the political system- which historically has been undemocratic. No Democrats are advocating that -not even close.
What has proven successful and what has in fact made Capitalism sustainable is a mix of free market and socialist principles such as labor unions, consumer protection laws, environmental protections, and a progressive tax structure, all of which is arguably a form of Socialism. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal which brought us social safety net and jobs programs through federal spending , regulation of industry and thus recovery from the depression was arguably a form of socialism
However, Republican refuse to acknowledge that fact, or perhaps are unable to understand it. Rather they blather about Harris /Walz being Marxists without even understanding what that means or being able to identify her positions that might justify that label

New Your City has contracted with some moderately priced hotels to house the overflow from the shelters that resulted from Florida and Texas bussing them to NY. Their stay is limited to 60 days The alternative would have been to let then live on the street, with children exposed to the elements. What would you suggest

Rather then lay out workable solutions to problems, he has insulted, offended and alienated people of color, women and other groups who he needs to win.
