Did you know John Adams was of thee Federalist Party, while Thomas Jefferson was an anti-federalist?

If you’re wondering what that’s gotta do with anything, well when John Adams was the 2nd president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson was his vice president..

Can anyone explain what’s up with that?

Whoever came in 2nd became VP at the time. Changed by 12th Amendment.

Both men had been good friends at one point, and bitter rivals as well.

During Jefferson’s two-term presidency, Europe was in a state of total war. 50 years after the declaration, on 4 July 1826, John Adams, before he drew his last breath said, “Thomas Jefferson Lives”. What he could not have known is that Jefferson had died five hours earlier.

The remarkable lives, and friendships, of Jefferson and Adams tell us much more than a clichéd story of political friendship and rivalry, they tell a story, and a history, of the birth a nation, and its struggles through disagreement and rivalry, war and peace, hope and despair and friendship and civility.
At one point Adam's had stories published about Jefferson banging his slaves and having children by one.

Which was probably a mistake.

I can not imagine a better check and balance than having a second place rival undermining a fuckin potato like Xiden.

As far as hitlery being VP for Trump, what difference would it make when the rest of the swamp was trying to bring him down?

I would have loved to have seen that. Not only couldn't she be any worse a VP than Pence, just imagine her after four years with Trump as her boss! :auiqs.jpg:
She would have gone postal.

She was already falling down long BEFORE the election!

It has always been a power hungry lunatic. It was sired by a father that was a political whore who had no real political values or beliefs beyond self aggrandizement and enrichment.

It should have been aborted with a rusty coat hanger and fed to a back alley rat in Shitcago.

The United States Constitution was barely a year old when Adams was elected president. The fledgling little Country was still coming to terms with freedom and democracy while the rest of the world was still under some sort of monarchy.. Give it a chance before you make judgments about political affiliation.

Barely a year old? He assumed office after 8 years of Washington’s presidency, who didn’t become president for about a year after the Constitution was adopted.

Washington was also a Federalist. These are not fathers, but British bedding.

Jefferson is the founder of the USA, it was he who wrote the Deсlaration

OK He was V.P. when the Constitution was a year old. He was elected president when the Constitution was less than ten years old and relatively untested. Where does that leave us in the political party issue?
