We sit on our phones and isolate our selves. We allow a 24 hour news to seep into our heads. The things we say to each other we would not say in person at least yet. No contact means no empathy. It use to be when we called each other pervert, camel toe. Whore, etc, etc we would have to see the pain in the eyes of the people we attack. We could also get some pain of our own such as a konk on the noggin. Isolation from the corona virus makes this even worse. It has not been as bad for me as I golf hunt and fish. Yes, like you I enjoy outdoor activities. Golf is my social outlet as I have an informal group of friends at the course that includes some of the staff. I'm sure lack of human interaction exacerbates our problems, but really the problems were there already. The divisions are getting wider and deeper. If that is to get better it will have to happen from the ground up because the leadership seems to thrive on division and polarization.
