Putting aside the matter of an extension for the ACA tax credits, here's a question for trump devotees.

Yeah, right. Do I need to explain what a "subsidy" for insurance is? Do you know who pays that 'subsidy'?

Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for federal health coverage or access to the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). However, they can purchase private health care plans and receive subsidies to help with monthly premiums and other costs.

Undocumented immigrants are generally eligible for the Marketplaces and subsidies, with some exceptions

They are not eligible

Then you would have no problem with measures to make sure they do not get it?

To make sure that no one who crossed the border illegally gets tax-funded health care?

What he ^^^ said!!!!!

Republicans left the Obamacare cliff to the last minute. Some are regretting it.

Republicans have said for months they had plenty of time to figure out what to do about Obamacare subsidies expiring at year’s end. During a six-week government shutdown that ended last week, they said they’d talk about it after. Now, with five weeks to go before New Year’s, they’re scrambling and divided.

Moderates and lawmakers in competitive seats are anxiously throwing bills together, worried about the political fallout that could await them if the subsidies expire and premiums skyrocket. Other Republicans simply want to have some bill to offer when the Senate votes next month on a likely Democratic plan to extend the subsidies as is. Republicans rejected that when Democrats offered it during the shutdown, but agreed to hold the vote.

Republicans in the Senate are latching onto President Donald Trump’s last-minute idea to send the money directly to consumers. But they’re finding it hard to build consensus with such a tight timeframe, and their frustration is showing. POLITICO’s new poll this week found Democrats retain a solid edge on health care affordability going into the 2026 midterms in which both House and Senate control are at stake.

“I want all the Obamacare subsidies to be gone,” retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) told reporters Thursday. “But this town is horrible about understanding the cliff nature to some of these decisions. We need to let [the subsidies] ramp down over time.”

R's have no idea what to do.

What has he done about the medical cost inflation that will, in part, cause premiums to jump so much? Still waiting for an answer.
More ACA price hikes?

What an unaffordable clusterfuck.

R's have no idea what to do.
A good start is to stop trying to rescue a disaster of a plan by dumping hundreds of billions into it to hide just how much it’s destroyed.

Let people feel the true reality of what Obama and the Dems did to us, and then they’ll be willing to make sacrifices to correct it rather than let it continue to ruin health insurance.

The ACA's goal was to slow the rise of medical cost inflation..........which it accomplished. Since its inception R's have relentlessly sabotaged it so it's impossible to know what its longer term effects would have been. We do know it has increased in popularity over the years.

Yes, data indicates that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has grown in popularity and reached record-high enrollment in recent years.
Lies.

Where is my $2500/year lower premiums?

Not once you factor in tax subsidies.

Barry said they would go down $2500.
Libs consider the “cost” of anything to be what an individual on government assistance ends up paying for it, after the taxpayers have subsidized it.

Standard Medicare Part B monthly premium to jump 9.7% in 2026

The standard Medicare Part B premium will increase to $202.90 per month in 2026, up $17.90, or 9.7%, from $185 per month in 2025, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The increase marks the second-highest Part B premium increase in dollars, according to Mary Johnson, an independent Social Security and Medicare analyst. The highest increase of $21.60 per month happened in 2022.

Retirees may see this as a “continuation in relentless cost increases,” Johnson said via email.

What has trump done to slow medical cost inflation?

Government healthcare sux, huh?

ACA Insurers Are Raising Premiums by an Estimated 26%, but Most Enrollees Could See Sharper Increases in What They Pay

Not that he hasn't been busy violating the Posse Comitatus Act, the War Powers Act, and having the DoJ refuse to comply with a subpoena for the Epstein files. And then there's golf.

But does he get a pass for doing nothing about something as impactful as the cost of health insurance?
You mean, Why hasn’t he fixed what the democrats fucked up.

You wanted obiecare, pay for it. We told you it was going to be the most expensive free thing you’ve ever seen and you did it anyway.

It’s practically like having no insurance at all. I was on it for years, and I spent a total of around $60,000 in premiums - and got nothing other than an annual check-up. I had to pay for PT myself, a specialist doctor myself, a CAT scan, and an assortment of things. It never covered anything because I hadn’t met my deductible, each and every year.

Basically, it was like a catastrophic medical plan - af a cost of a platinum-level health insurance plan.

Both parties have failed at healthcare. It is silly to argue from the perspective of partisan politics when it comes to healthcare. Here's a hint - neither of them care about it! They have NO solutions.

Plus…..I didn’t get to keep my doctor, either. So I ended up paying through the nose for an “affordable” plan and had to go with a less competent and respected doctor.
Where did all these lost doctors go?

Horse shit
