The response by those who don't like Trump will be defined during the events in Portland and other large cities. They want their videos and images so that they can persuade supporters of MAGA to turn their backs and show Trumps America as tyrannic, angry and divisive. Even if not, they can blame him for such perspectives.
If the objective of his administration will be to just ignore such images if they come to fruition, it will lead to legitimate authoritarianism and China will have won. The terrorists won after 9/11 in my opinion forcing America to change domestically and not for the better. America cannot allow China to win now too.
I'm just calling balls and strikes. Trump sometimes has good political instincts such as when he didn't get suckered into taking the last debate with ABC or taking the bait some laid out for him to violate court orders, knowing it would provide an excuse for his detractors. However, the last couple of months I think he has taken the bait on occasions and if it was designed to change the narrative it has only partially been successful.
As one poster on social media said five months ago and I paraphrase though he might have been on to something not that I reflect, he said, it's a long way until 2028 and he expects the Dems to regenerate strongly by 2028. He suggested that there will be a honeymoon period in which Dem donors have zero incentive to fund Dems right after a loss. He want on to say that Trump starts strong and unifies voters on victory, but in the end he will finish poorly and divide voters to such a degree that the Dems can recover and regain immense donor and voter support.
Trump won on being a libertarian GOP member. The far-right is a big loser nationally I'm guessing which is why after GWB the GOP were basically playing patsy for a decade.
The key is not to over-support your base, the key is to over-support all of your voters. He needs to be balanced and cover all his bases. "We apply tariffs. We also give some back to farmers, voters and cut down the deficit. We round up illegals, but we also support patriotic Americans. We help with surges in areas, but, we also declassify weed which we KNOW shouldn't be in the same sentence with hard poisions. We don't get mixed up in forever wars, but we will hit Iran strategically and ramp up, sell weapons to Europe and back NATO if our partners keep their word".
This is the balance he needs to strike. I guarantee. Repeat,
guarantee that his detractors are praying for images and videos of police brutality during these police surges. They want to divide his voters and donors. We are seeing it in Canada with CBP actions that Canada is promoting to discourage Canadians from visiting and injecting money into your economy.
