sound innocuous, transfer guard to other functions bypassing the governor, what could be in play here? Then you look through the proposal and you see "from a unit of the Air National Guard of the United States to a unit of the United States Space Force; deactivate the unit; or assign the unit a new Federal mission," the text reads. Boy that opens a new can of worms, a new federal mission. Air Force Proposes Bypassing Governors in 7 States to Move Guard Units into Space Force

Depends on what those units do, doesn't it?

The problem with starting a new "Space Force" is that it takes away from other services.

Frankly, like all of Trump's ideas, the Space Force is awful, and Biden should reverse it and return those people to their appropriate services. But once a bureaucracy gets started, it's hard to get rid of.

" A new federal mission" could be interpreted in a lot of ways, may not have anything to do with a phony ass space cadet program.

the space force should, and has a great sales pitch, recruit and train their own t o. no academy is needed, i suppose, officers chosen from the other services and such,

i've never been a fan of federalizing the national guard for these foreign adventures. we need our guard here for hurricanes and such, the oil wars should be fought by regulars.

Until the world stops buying US debt. That will start some budget cutting and balancing.

Drones are the primary weapons now in war, but they need satellites to navigate. The next weapon is satellite hacking. The global powers don't want to physically destroy satellites, since that would accelerate the Kessler syndrome, but some nation with fewer or none may decide it might as well shoot down everything up there.
