The movement from Central America through Mexico -- because of where it is geographically, duh --- is where the rape and human trafficking is taking place -- within Mexico. In other words those who make it through all that tend to be the victims of the rapes --- not the 'rapists'. The rapists and human traffickers stay right where they are, because that's where their prey is. If they were to make their way to the US, they would lose that position.

This is the simple dynamic Donald Rump never bothered to figure out -- or more likely, knows perfectly well but misstates it anyway because he knows the emotional booga booga story will sell to the unwashed who can't be bothered to look into the detail, such as yourself up there thinking "Mexican" is a race.

So this boils down to yet another 'blame the victim' mentality, much like spreading horror stories about Middle Eastern refugees trying to flee war and terrorism by painting the recipients of terrorism as the perpetrators.
