Producer of aluminum explains the need for tariffs

American made steel and aluminum is vital for defense

And for our economy

It will mean good jobs for American workers

Sure, they can raise their prices by 25%.

Which is what happens when domestic manufacturers can hide behind the tariff wall.

Sometimes, it encourages investment.
Mostly, it subsidizes inefficiency.

I guess you haven't heard, but steel mills and copper mines are closing. Guess why?
US steel adding jobs. :rolleyes-41:

The new plant will be adjacent to U. S. Steel’s Big River Steel. Together, the two facilities will be known as Big River Steel Works. The new plant is expected to bring 900 plant jobs to the area, along with thousands of construction jobs.

"President Donald Trump’s plan to impose a 25% tariff on all imported aluminum could cost 100,000 American jobs, the CEO of one of the largest US aluminum makers warned on Tuesday"

"The tariffs would “destroy about 20,000 direct US aluminum industry jobs and could result in 80,000 indirect jobs being eliminated in the US,” said William Oplinger, CEO of Alcoa, speaking at the BMO Global Metals and Mining conference. “It’s bad for the US,” he added"

Explain why the CEO of Alcoa is wrong.

Or, with his tax breaks to manufacturers who bring their factories over here, there will be thousands of
jobs created, not to mention the revenue.
That is the reason for the tariffs......."The Art of the Deal"

Facts are not your friend. Keep exposing how that is. Lamer.

Stop your damn lying. There are major companies already committing to come
over here and investing Billions, including steel and aluminum. It's the tax breaks.
Not lying. If it's proposed, that's ok. But what about the existing job losses? Those mean jack to you.
