Principal commits suicide amid Common Core test scandal New York Post
Poor woman worked hard to make good impressions on her students. Yes, she cheated but it's not because she was a bad person. She just wanted to save the children from that terrible common core system. It's just unbelievable, only 34 percent of students could pass the math test in 2014. I don't believe it's because the students are stupid, it's because the system itself is flawed.

The secret to education is to get kids interested. The reason kids fail the tests is because they are not interested or engaged at school. Everything else is more important to them than learning. Common Core fails at this basic principle. Designing a complicated testing scheme and standards for elementary kids does nothing to improve education. No 3rd grader should be nervous about a freaking test.

Get kids interested in school and combat all the distractions ... particularly impoverished homelife, violent homelife, violence and bullying in the school and on the street, addiction to tv and video games ... AND ABOVE ALL MAKE SCHOOL SUBJECTS INTERESTING AND ENGAGING ... and you will do more than common core could ever dream of.

Standardized testing should have no impact on whether an elementary student advances in grade.

She was a cheat, now she's dead. So be it. And the tests should be hard to tell us what the kids actually do or do not know. No one need kill themselves over that. If we hold the whole damn grade back, good, they aren't there yet.
