Prime rib fans, have you ever had your cut seared on both sides?

My last prime rib cut I had at a restaurant was seared and seasoned on both sides. I didn't order it that way but WOW from now on I will always request it that way. It's like a rib eye with prime rib flavor.. Give it a try and see what you think.
How thick was the cut?

Who doesn't sear and season the steak on both sides? :dunno:

It's not something you have to request.

Do you mean a prime rib roast or a ribeye steak?

Yes. The other way is to put it into hot Aus Ju to heat it up. Both ways are fine by me. :dunno:
I should cook one of them soon, would be nice to have a replacement before I do, that's unlikely to happen before fall.
Especially with the globalist war on beef. This will give rise to beef bootlegging, watch. :auiqs.jpg:
I'll get with a farmer and buy a side and split it with people. I'll hustle.

I'm curious how much is it when you buy the whole 'hunk o Prime Rib' from a farmer?

Speaking for myself, that's the ONLY way to have it prepared properly.

I haven't gotten that far yet, that's fer extreme circumstances, ya know? Thus far things have been OK at the grocery store at the right times. Kiss it in a hot pan with butter and garlic and salt and pepper for a minute on each side.
Gah! I gotta finish my Slumgullian before any Prime Rib doings happen.

I've ordered it dozens of times in restaurants and this is the first time I got a seared cut. I'll always ask for seared now that I know "the secret".
There is a local restaraunt here in my town that my wife and I have gone to for years. They introduced me to searing Prime Rib on both sides about 15 years ago, and that's the only way that I've eaten it since.
It truly makes a huge difference in taste and texture.

Got searing rack on the GAS BBQ grill. All steaks that way. But prime rib was always oven baked. Cost too much to fool around with it?

So you saying, cut off your steak raw and sear it, grill it, eat it. OK maybe I try it.

THX

I've never grilled prime rib myself but it sounds like a lot of the guys do. Just by accident I got a seared cut at Texas Roadhouse and I'm sold! I'll always ask for it to be seared from now on.
