Yep. China thought they could use Hong Kong for its special trading privileges. Trump, and to be fair, the Congress that wrote the legislation, put an end to that.

ok - i was trying to decipher why some of the verbiage was ANTI HONG KONG on the surface but it's not. it's saying you don't get what we gave hong kong.

The Chinese are in no condition militarily to go to war with the United States. They know this. The best they can do is continue to stir up domestic chaos here.

They'll need a good twenty years to equalize militarily, and it's unlikely we will sit still for that time.
