It's great that he saluted, but I really wish they would train people better about the proper way to salute. It's supposed to be snappy and with purpose. Also, your middle finger should make contact with the corner of your eye or, the brim of your hat if you are wearing one.

Doing it like that, while nice, just looks sloppy.

A salute is a sign of respect, not to be taken lightly. In the military, they train you to salute properly, they should also train others like the president to do it properly as well.
