Of course the draft dodger gets it wrong.........AGAIN.

George Bush was IN the military............But NOT in uniform.
The orange TRAITOR never was.

"Can Civilians Salute The American Flag?

. . . Traditionally, only uniformed soldiers could salute the flag during the National Anthem or when it was being raised or lowered. In 2008, however, Congress passed a law allowing veterans and members of the military who are not in uniform to salute the flag. . ."

That would have been signed into law by the same George W. Bush.

The President of the United States is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. It is perfectly appropriate for him to salute the flag or to salute any person it is appropriate to salute.

Civilians should not salute the American Flag. This is considered a privilege earned by those who have served in the military. Traditionally, only uniformed soldiers could salute the flag during the National Anthem or when it was being raised or lowered. In 2008, however, Congress passed a law allowing veterans and members of the military who are not in uniform to salute the flag. When in uniform, soldiers are required to salute the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. They should also salute when the flag is raised or lowered.

Even though I am a staunch supporter of President Trump, I do not support him saluting the flag. I think the civilian form of honor, of placing the right hand over the heart, is more appropriate, IMHO.

It bothered me a bit at first too, but then after some reflection. . .
I don't see a problem with the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces saluting the flag. It is not required that he salute or not salute.

The practice of the President saluting military who salute him was made popular by President Reagan and all subsequent Presidents have done that including Obama. Protocol neither requires or forbids that, but nobody suggests that is improper. So surely if the Commander in Chief can return a salute from other military, it is not improper for him to salute the flag.

Posting your stuff twice does not change the truth of what I posted in the least.

The President of the United States is Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces while he is in office. That makes him military for the time he serves and gives him the right to salute. It is widely accepted, even expected, that the President will return salutes from the military. If he is expected to do that, what is the problem with him saluting the flag?

Don't the left cultists think that the louder and longer they shout it, the truer it gets?

Isn't it great to have a president that actually loves our country and our nation's flag again? God bless President Trump. :salute:

It's great that he saluted, but I really wish they would train people better about the proper way to salute. It's supposed to be snappy and with purpose. Also, your middle finger should make contact with the corner of your eye or, the brim of your hat if you are wearing one.

Doing it like that, while nice, just looks sloppy.

A salute is a sign of respect, not to be taken lightly. In the military, they train you to salute properly, they should also train others like the president to do it properly as well.

Just my opinion.

As much "truth" as your dear leader?
LOL.

Returning salutes to military personnel is different than saluting the flag.
If he is expected to do that, what is the problem with him saluting the flag?
Has ANY other president?
Even if they WERE in the military?

Especially, a draft dodger.

Agreed 100%. Well, almost 100% obviously the felon's name is Trump, not Hitler.

Oh go choke on some crackers why don't you? 🙄

Did you notice he didn't sing along this time?

So? I don't either. I just stand up and either put my right hand over my heart or my cap.

Unrelated to Trump, but... it is almost physically painful to see someone wearing a ball cap saluting with their hand to their corner brow. Even worse when it is some type of veteran cap.

It's even more painful to see that you lefties are dying in this thread to condemn President Trump for this but yet you can't so you're back to your elementary school insults as your only defense.

Yep, he's doing a knockout job. He's bringing back plastic straws. Saluting, even.

And making this country free and safe again.

Another fallacy. Do you nuts have any facts ever?

Nope! Not when it comes to things like this anyways.
