I've only been to Philadelphia once, it was actually a pretty fun time at least in the summer. That city has a good vibe. Kansas City been a couple times, great for exploring bbq joints, it was okay but nothing amazing. I'm not sure I'd call it a shit hole, that is a bit of an exaggeration.

I'd be surprised if most at the Superbowl are from either city. There are plenty I'm sure, but it is probably widely regional (I know people from both Omaha, NE and Dayton, OH who consider KC "their" team) along with plenty of people from the New Orleans area.
