Also the Democrats are now targeting Elon Musk with accusations of DOGE being a conflict of interest since Musk's companies have received government money.
Tesla along with other EV manufacturers has received billions in tax credits, subsidies etc. almost all under Obama and Biden. In addition Space X partners with NASA and that has involved billions in contracts.
Musk cannot be faulted for taking advantage of what the government throws at him but he is good with ending government subsidies of all kinds for EVs. But he also will step away and not listen in on or participate in any discussions of ending those tax credits, subsidies, or other monetary government benefits for EVs or Space X.
As the only private firm in the world doing space exploration and capable of sending astronauts into space, Space X can do what the U.S. government no longer does. As the USA, shortsightedly perhaps, cut back on its own manned space program, Elon cannot be faulted for being paid when the U.S. needs his rockets and space travel capabilities to do what it no longer does. For instance the USA has no way to retrieve the two astronauts stranded at the Space Station and Space X has been contracted to go get them. Space X cannot be expected to do that without compensation. It is far cheaper for the U.S. to pay Space X for necessary space functions than it is to maintain their own facilities to do that.
Also he is taking no salary as head of DOGE. The man is worth more than 400 billion and is listed as the richest man in the world. How much conflict of interest could he have?

In case anybody actually cares, its Philly 24 KC 0 at the half. Taylor Swift was booed by the crowd when she came in, President Trump, the first ever sitting POTUS to attend a Super Bowl game, was cheered by the crowd.
I don't think it a good thing Taylor was booed, but it's a very good thing that the President was cheered.

The only difference between Obama's equivalent of DOGE and Trump/Musk DOGE is that Trump intends to actually do something about government inefficiency, ineffectiveness, waste and fraud. In my opinion all Americans should see that as a good thing and not something to disparage.

So here's a U.S. Senator putting out disinformation on the HUD audit. After months of exceedingly frustrating dealings with HUD and seeing migrants getting subsidized housing while poor and deserving U.S. citizens languish on long waiting lists, I am convinced this agency also needs a thorough audit and housecleaning.
Ben Carson started that process in 2019 but COVID pretty much shut down much of the government in 2020 along with everything else. The Biden Administration gave preference to non citizens over citizens in far too many areas:
