Instead, he systematically dismantled German democracy and purged the civil service over time, a process known as Gleichschaltung (coordination). The initial, legally-appointed government he led was a coalition that included conservative politicians from the previous administration, who mistakenly believed they could control him.

Frankly, despite all of the rocky battles and cutting-edge issues and challenges bucking the system, Trump has done remarkably well. One by one, most everything he has tried to do has worked out pretty well in his favor, and so far, that includes his court battles with judges and democrats.

If Trump were a Democrat, he'd be on about his fifth Nobel Prize by now.
